A Vic officer’s 1821 pattern sword of The Royal Horse Artillery, slightly curved, fullered blade 35”, by “Landon & Morland, 17 Jermyn St, London” (1848-56), etched on one side with crowned VR cypher and “Royal Horse Artillery” and on the other crowned VR cypher, “Ubique” scroll and cannon, all in scrolled panels, regulation steel hilt with sideloop and two sidebars, stepped pommel, plain backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip, in its black painted steel scabbard with 2 rings. Basically GC (blade worn, etching faint, hilt rusted).

Pre WWII Japanese Katana Sword with Leather Scabbard & Stingray Skin HandleThe blade has a nice visible grain, suggesting it is hand made.The blade is sharp all the way to the handle, suggesting it may be pre WWII. The wooden peg that holds the hilt to the tang is only partially there. It has probably been damaged when someone previously removed the hilt. The hand guard and the copper / brass pieces above this wobble extensively and need attention. The handle may need to be re-wrappedWe have decided not to remove the hilt because we cannot contact the vendor to get permission and the wooden peg is in bad condition, which may make it difficult to reassemble
