Reverse of the scabbard is inked “CARROLL ERVIN DEAN”. Remains in good condition.

A 1796 Pattern Type Cavalry Officer’s Sword, curved broad single edge blade 29.5” stamped Wooley and Deakin (the last name faint) on back edge, brass stirrup hilt retaining traces of gilding, wire bound leather covered grip, in an iron scabbard for a trooper’s sword, some age wear, good condition.
An Interesting 1796 Pattern Infantry Officer’s Sword of Coldstream Guards and Battle of Waterloo Interest, straight single edge blade 32” etched with crowned GR cipher and martial trophy, regulation gilt brass hilt with folding side-guard and silver-covered grip, the side-guard later engraved with the presentation inscription ‘Carried by My Father LIEUT Hon Walter Forbes at WATERLOO’, in its steel scabbard with twin hanging rings, age worn overall, good condition. Walter Forbes, 18th Lord Forbes (1798 – 1868) was a Scottish Peer. He was one of the youngest serving officers of the line, during the Battle of Waterloo. He was serving with the Coldstream Guards during the famous battle.
A 19th Century Cut Steel Hilt Smallsword, slender triangular-section blade 32” (some rust patches) cut iron grip and guard pierced for strung iron beads (some strings missing), in its black vellum covered scabbard with iron mounts and chained belt-hanger (chape and last 6” of scabbard missing) slightly rusty overall, good condition.
Miniature Scottish False Dirk, being a well made ¾ size dirk but with no blade. Carved lattice work handle with white metal thistle decorated top mount and amber coloured glass stone pommel. Scabbard also has white metal thistle decorated mounts and knife and fork pieces (again no blades and cannot be removed) with amber coloured glass stones set top the tops. Dirk measures 30 ½ cm in length.
Cut Down British Georgian Officers Sword, plain gilt metal knuckle bow with lion head pommel, plain langet. Grip retains the original wire binding. Blade has remains of the etched blue and gilt decoration. Blade has been cut down and measures 45 ½ cm. Blade suffers from heavy corrosion and rusting. Complete with its original shortened leather and brass mounted scabbard. Top scabbard mount engraved “H Osborn Sword Cutler Bell Maker To His Majesty Birmingham Pall Mall London”. Ideal for parts.
British Victorian 1827 Pattern Naval Officers Sword, standard pattern example with Victorian crowned fouled anchor to the dish guard. Lion head pommel, fish skin grip with wire binding. Reverse catch is engraved with the original owners name “W W Smyth”. Single fullered blade with etched foliage, crowned anchor and Victorian coat of arms. Forte etched Batten & Adams Outfitters Davenport. Blade measures 77 ½ cm in length. Sword is housed in its original leather and brass mounted scabbard. Reverse of the top scabbard fitting has makers shield badge. Black colouring to the leather scabbard has worn. Leather scabbard has shrunk exposing a section of the blade.
Continental Cavalry Sword, swept three bar style brass hilt with chequered carved wooden grip. Guard is stamped with various crowned acceptance stamps. Single fullered plain slightly curved blade, 89cm in length. Housed in black painted scabbard. Good untouched condition with the brass fittings dulled.
British George VI 1897 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword, standard pattern with large guard having crowned GRVI cipher to the centre. Grip retains the original wire. Blade with etched decoration and Royal ciphers. Blade has E&F Horster Solingen makers mark to the forte. Some surface staining to the blade, measures 80 ½ cm in length. Housed in the original brown leather covered field service scabbard. Complete with the original sam browne belt frog. Good overall condition.
British Edward VII 1897 Pattern NCO’s Sword, standard pattern with large dish guard having cipher of Edward VII to the centre. Grip retains the original wire binding. Plain blade with single fuller to top section. Crowned acceptance stamps to the forte and Wilkinsons makers mark. Blade measures 82cm in length. Some surface staining to the blade. Housed in its original steel scabbard.
George V Kings Own Scottish Borderers Officers Basket Hilt Broad Sword with Additional Field Officers Ceremonial Guard and Ceremonial Scabbard by Wilkinson Sword, Basket hilt with the original red fronted buff interior cover and crimson tassels. Grip retains the original wire binding. Double edged blade with central fuller. Blade is etched with thistles, royal cipher and regimental badge of the Kings Own Scottish Borderers. Forte is etched with Henry Wilkinson Pall Mall and edge is stamped 57093. Sword is housed in its original brown leather covered scabbard. Sword is accompanied by the original metal dress scabbard and also the original field officers ceremonial guard which has finely cut out design of thistles and central KOSB castle badge with motto NISI DOMINUS FRUSTRA. Ceremonial guard also retains the buff interior covering. Two small drill holes to the reverse of the scabbards, where they were mounted for many years but otherwise a very nice complete set.
Scottish Ceremonial Dirk, with carved lattice work wooden grip having brass top fitting and thistle decorated brass lower chape. Pommel top has cut glass stone. Scabbard of black leather with brass thistle decorated fittings, marked to the reverse A S N FIFE FORFAR. Knife and forks to the centre of the scabbard, both with cut glass top pommels. Top scabbard fitting has cross of St Andrew with crude white metal 42 underneath. Polished blade with etched panel to the top section. Blade measures 32cm in length. Good overall condition.
Turkish Infantry Officers Sword in the Imperial German 1889 style. Horn handle, fold down brass guard with trophy of arms and Turkish crescent moon decoration. Blade with single fuller and etched decoration showing trophy of arms and Turkish crescent moon and star. Spine of the blade has Constantinople makers details. Housed in its steel scabbard with brass ring mounts. Blade 74 ½ cm in length. Some dents to the scabbard.
