Blum, p. 35, n. 2; pl. I, 12.Of the highest rarity, possibly only the fourth specimen known and the best in private hands. Green patina, good very fine.A note from BCD (LHS, Auction 96, lot 1188) related to the third known Antinoos of Argos (the others being in the Gotha and Paris collections): “to find an Antinoos from Argos had always been one of my dreams, finally this one appeared in 1986 in the hands of a dealer who is not well known for his sensible prices. But how could I refuse such a unique opportunity? What remains to be seen is if it will sell for half my acquisition price or less”.

Bowie Style Knife made by "Arnachellum, Salem" in India in the mid 1800's for the US and British market. 27cm blade. Some rust pitting to lower cutting edge. Antler horn grip with steel pommel cap. Retaning catch fitted to scabbard which engages to crossguard. The scabbard is in brown leather with a finely tooled cross hatched pattern. Angled belt loop. Overall length in scabbard 42cm.
