A type 45 1903 Siamese Mauser bayonet with scabbard. Wooden slab grips, with blued steel pommel and button release catch. Short cross guard with muzzle ring, single edged blade with fuller. Marked to the top of the pommel and at the ricasso. Length in scabbard approximately 39.5cm. Generally good condition - some service wear to the wooden grips, and mottling to the blade. Plus, a Swiss SIG M1957 bayonet, complete with scabbard. Makers mark of Waffenfabrik Bern at the ricasso. Approximately 37.5cm length in scabbard. Condition: generally good. Clean grip and blade, some service wear to the plastic scabbard.

Japanese Tanto Dagger with Period imitation Katana with heavy metal blade. Tanto Dagger has signature to handle tang, overall length Approximately 47cm, blade length 31cm, width of blade at base 2.8cm. Katana overall length 93cm, blade length 65cm with later scabbard.

A WW2 era RAD (Reichsarbeitsdienst) enlisted man’s dagger / hewer for the German Labour Service, by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. Usual stag horn grips secured by 2 screws, and a stylised eagles head pommel. Single edged blade with fuller, plus etched motto of ‘Arbeit adelt’, which translates as ‘work ennobles’. Marked at the ricasso with the Eickhorn makers mark, the RAD triangular mark, and ‘GES GESCH’. Complete with its black painted scabbard, with etched detail to both the throat and chape, plus a ‘parallelogram’ shaped suspension loop. Approximately 39.8cm length in scabbard, blade length 24.5cm. Condition: generally good. The antler grips are good, and without chipping or splitting. Some service wear to the nickel finish on the pommel, handle, and cross guard. The blade is good, but would appear to have been lacquered at some point in the past; you can scratch this off with your fingernail. The motto and makers marks to the blade are clear. The scabbard is good, with almost all the painted finish remaining, and only some small chipping to the edge. Both the chape and throat area have dulled with age, with the former having some light contact mark towards the end.

Rare British WW2 Mk1 No’4 Bayonet with un-altered cruciform blade with original tapered scabbard, manufactured in1939 only with nearly all being altered in 1940 with the tip being ground to screwdriver point. Makers mark to head, release catch in working order.

Lot 378

A vintage Finnish Puukko knife, in the Ilves (Lynx) pattern, by Janne Marttiini. Of traditional form, with a shaped curly beech handle and metal stud to the pommel holding the tang in place. Single edged steel blade, with fuller and flattened spine. Engraved with makers details to one side of the blade, and a reindeer and sled image. Complete with a light tan coloured tooled leather sheath, with provision for a belt loop. Approximately 40.5cm length in the scabbard, blade length 24.8cm. Condition: generally good. Good clean blade, still with a keen edge. The handle has a small drilled hole to one side, for unknown reasons, but is otherwise good. The leather sheath shows some fading to one side, and a couple of areas of water spotting, but is intact and sturdy.

Lot 396

A 19th century 1828 pattern, Highland officers sword by Wilkinson. Of standard form, with a steel basket hilt guard, with heart shaped piercings, and a red felt and leather inner. Fish skin grip with wire binding, and a domed and knopped pommel. Double edged blade, with twin fullers. Henry Wilkinson of Pall Mall London etched to the ricasso, plus usual proof mark. The blade has also been etched with its former owners initials, and these are believed to read as ‘ANSG’. The spine is stamped with the serial number ‘11980’. Complete with steel scabbard, with 2 suspension rings. The sword does have a period bullion knot attached to the basket, but this is believed to be incorrect for this style of sword. Approximate length in scabbard 100.5cm - blade length 81.8cm. Condition: generally solid and complete, but service and age wear. The guard has darkened with age, and there are breaks in 2 places (see photographs). The lining is mostly complete, but is soiled with age and from service. The blade is bright and clean, with just minor mottling to the metal. The scabbard has darkened with age, and there is a dent to one side around halfway down. Both the guard and scabbard have light areas of old surface rust and contact marks commensurate with age and use.
