Captain H W Pilcher’s Hobson & sons dress sword with his blue tunic and a leather sword scabbard ('Captain (later Major) Pilcher was a distinguished officer of the Shanghai Volunteer Corps who saw service in the Boxer Rebellion. He commanded 'A' Company (the Mih-Ho-Loong Rifles) from 1905-1916 and rose to Second-in-Command of the Corps in the 1920s.')
WW1 07 Pattern SMLE Bayonet 1918 Dated, original WW1 1918 dated 07 bayonet, this example is unusual due to the plastic type of hand grips. These grips have been recorded to have been used on these 07 bayonets but not many have survived. The pommel unfortunately has been hammered on the top, which has seized the catch with locks the bayonet onto the rifle. Blade is in fair condition with one bolt from the hand grip missing. Early tear drop scabbard. Make good for display piece but will not fix onto the rifle.
WW2 German Armed Forces Parade Bayonet, with pommel top missing release button, two piece chequered grips. Housed in its blackened scabbard with frog stud. Attached to the scabbard is a pressed leather bayonet frog. Polished blade with fuller to the back edge, makers trademark of E Pack & Sohne, Solingen. Blade 24 ½ cms, overall 39 cms.
