A Wm IV period R Naval officer’s sword, broad, pipe backed blade 31½”, DE at point, etched in panels, on one side with crowned fouled anchor, and on the other with crowned 1816-37 R Arms and supporters, regulation brass hilt, retaining some original gilt, turn down inner portion, the guard incorporating crowned fouled anchor, lion’s head pommel, facetted backstrap, wirebound white sharkskin grip, in its leather scabbard with brass locket, middle band and chape retaining traces of gilt, 2 rings. GC (some wear and light pitting to blade).
An Imperial German artillery officer’s sword, curved, fullered blade 32”, foliate panelled brass stirrup hilt, the langets bearing crossed cannon on one side and owner’s monogram “WH” in shield on the other, pronounced knucklebow with trophy and Maltese Cross, lion’s head pommel, backstrap with central floral panel and “ears”, swollen wirebound fishskin covered grip, in its black painted scabbard with single ring. A good mid 19th century US cavalry troopers sword, curved fullered blade 35½”, with slender back fuller to central section, marked “Horstmann” and “Phila” on one side at forte with small stamp on the other, French style brass hilt, the guard with reinforced edges into knucklebow (stamped “39” at the top), and 2 sideloops, slightly forward sloping cap shaped pommel, wirebound leather grip, in its steel scabbard with 2 rings. Near VGC, the blade retaining much original finish, dark patina to scabbard. Plate 4

An Imperial German M1889 Infantry officer’s de luxe presentation sword, by WK & C, the double fullered plated blade 31½” etched with panels of foliage and on one side “Ihrem hochverehrten Hauptmann Adolf Oberwinter” and on the other side “Das Offizier-Krops der I. Compagnie 1907”, the gilt brass hilt having folding guard with eagle and cypher on both sides, knucklebow embossed with leaves on inner and outer edges, pommel embossed with eagle over trophy of arms and flags, and flat pommel button engraved with “AO” monogram, the wire bound black composition grip originally having superimposed cypher (now missing), in its black painted scabbard with leather and bullion wire knot attached to the suspension ring. GC (small split and minor wear to the grip, knucklebow slightly bent). Plate 3
