World War Two German Third Reich Kriegsmarine Officers Dress Dagger, Brass Wire Bound Cellulose Covered Grip, Brass Eagle With Swastika Pommel, Brass Press Release Button And Fouled Anchor Cross Guard, Brass Scabbard With Lightning Bolt Decoration With Twin Suspension Rings, 25cm Etched Decorated Blade, Maker Marked For Horster Solingen
1935-55 Oglaigh na hÉireann Irish Army officer's sword, the blade etched with a harp above Celtic interlace motif surrounding the badge of Oglaigh na hÉireann set in a sunburst, on nickel plated hilt engraved 'D.C.H' with Oglaigh na hÉireann badge. In black-painted nickel scabbard with silver bullion sword knot. Of a type used by a captain of infantry. Very scarce with nickel hilt.
Three bayonets. A British P1907 Lee Enfield SMLE bayonet with round frog stud by Sanderson, dated 1919, in steel scabbard and webbing frog; a Swiss M1918 bayonet by Elsener, serial number 593522, in steel scabbard and leather frog; and an AKM Type 1 bayonet serial number S AK2866, in steel scabbard with rubber insulator and matching serial number. 1938-1945 German M38 Kriegsmarine officer's uniform dagger named for Korvettenkapitän Claus Korth, Knights Cross recipient. The double fullered blade etched with fouled anchors and sea creatures, the ricasso maker marked for WKC, the gilt brass hilt with orange cellulose grip. In gilt brass scabbard engraved 'C. Korth - U-93', on a pair of black nylon fabric hangers, black velvet backing, gilt aluminum fittings, chains and buckles with dual lion heads. During World War II, Claus Korth (1911-1988) commanded U-57 and U-93, sinking thirteen ships for a total of 54,584 tons of Allied merchant shipping, including the RMS Durham Castle. He was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross.
