German Third Reich Government Official’s dagger and knot by Alcoso, Solingen circa 1939-42.A fine rare example with simulated mother of pearl grip and silver plated mounts. Eagle’s head ornamented pommel, crossguard and langet bearing an eagle and swastika facing same way as pommel. Plain polished double-edged blade etched with maker’s scales logo. Reverse of ferrule, crossguard and scabbard throat with matching number ‘2’. Housed in its finely pebbled plated scabbard with fine oakleaf bands supporting both loose suspension rings. Complete with original aluminium wire portepee (knot). VGCIntroduced in March 1939; production ceased in mid 1942.

The plated double edged blade bears etched motto “Alles für Deutchland” and RZM logo over M7/33. Brown wooden grip with inlaid silvered eagle and swastika and enamelled SA circular device. The crossguard stamped “Nm”. Housed in brown anodised scabbard with plated mounts. Complete with chains bearing mobile swastikas, SA device and central triangle links, one link marked RZM M5/8 (Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid) on reverse, another marked “MUSTERSCHUTZ NSKK-KORPSFUHRING”. Oakleaf ornamented spring clip. Slight service wear and light surface rust to scabbard.

Complete with black leather suspension strap with oval aluminium securing plate and Assmann marked DRGM spring clip. Wear to scabbard chape plating, blade bright. Generally VGCRemoved by Captain R.J. Hewett 316367, a Military Government Officer 21st Army Group, from the desk of the Düsseldorf Chief of Police.

Blade retains most original cross grain finish; plating to grip star worn, scabbard paint with traces of paint only. GCRLB was the Air Raid Precautions.

Housed in original brown painted scabbard with nickel plated mounts, the top one with single suspension ring retaining brown leather hanging strap faintly stamped with RZM stamp and “12/371” ‘40’ (the clip stamped M5/25 (Christian Theodor Dicke, Lüdenscheid) and bears RZM logo. Blade retains most original cross grain. Minor service wear. VGCSA (Sturmabteilung) “Brown Shirts” dagger introduced in 1933.

Housed in black repainted scabbard with plated mounts, the middle band ornamented with interlinked stylised swastikas. A good example with plated single edged plain fullered 84 cm slightly curved blade bearing cutler’s inverted triangle and sword logo to the forte. The gilded hilt with single bar guard with embossed oakleaf decoration and to the langet a German Army eagle and swastika with folded wings. The black grip with twist wire binding is surmounted by a oak leaf ornamented combined backstrap and pommel. Housed in original black painted steel scabbard with one loose ring. Royal Navy George VI Period Officer’s Sword.A very good example of the regulation pattern. The blade with etched decoration of a crowned GVIR cypher and fouled anchor device. The hilt with gilt guard and lion head pommel, which surmounts a white shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Housed in gilt mounted leather scabbard and complimented with bullion sword knot. Victorian 2nd Life Guards Officer’s State pattern sword.A rare late Victorian period example, the single edged spear point blade with retailer’s name of Hawkes & Co. London and is etched with a crowned VR reversed Cypher and battle honours “Peninsula”, “Waterloo” , the last being “Egypt 1882”. The reverse again with crowned regimental device. The plated guard is mounted with entwined gilt metal letters L.G 2 surmounted by a crown and bears gilt metal stud decoration. Shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Housed in original steel scabbard with gilt metal mounts and two loose rings and complemented by original buff leather lining to the guard. Remains in good bright condition
Scottish. Victorian 2nd VB Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders Officer’s Presentation Broadsword.A rare 1898 presentation sword given to Quarter Master Erskine in 1889. The sword is the regulation Highland pattern, the straight doubled edged, double fuller blade with etched decoration of the regimental devices and title “2VB Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders”. Also a presentation inscription “ PRESENTED BY THE SERGEANTS OF THE PAISLEY COMPANIES TO QUARTER MASTER ERSKINE ON THE OCCASION OF HIS PROMOTION 1898.” The forte with the retailer’s details of “Henderson 14 West Nile St Glasgow”. The hilt with regulation basket guard with scarlet and buff leather lining and crimson tassel. Housed in its steel scabbard. Etching to blade bright and clear minor age wear to the scabbard and guard. VGC

The hilt with three bar open guard, with leather covered grip with ears. Housed in steel scabbard with two loose rings. The scabbard engraved “Q.O.R.Y.C. 26”. GC.The engraving to the scabbard may indicate Queen’s Own Regiment Yeomanry Cavalry, which is part title of both the Dorset and Worcestershire Yeomanry Cavalry.
1796 pattern Heavy Cavalry officer’s sword.A good and rare example with engraved decoration to the straight 34 inch single edged blade, this depicting: crowned GR cypher, Royal Coat of Arms stand of arms and initials “B.B.”. The hilt with pierced “Ladder” guard, with leather covered grip, this with silver twist wire binding. Accompanied by a steel scabbard, fitted with two loose rings, this engraved “Q.D.G. A/32”. Overall condition, engraving faint to parts, edged appears to have been sharpened during it’s working life. Both sword and scabbard good matching colour and fit.Possibly a matched scabbard and sword.

Victorian Hampshire Royal Engineers Volunteers 1857 Pattern Senior NCO’s Issue Sword.This example conforms to the Officer’s pattern, with etched decoration of a Crowned entwined VR cypher. The forte of the blade with the cutler’s details of Robert Mole and with various WD inspection and issue stamps indicating 1895. The hilt is of the Royal Engineers 1857 pattern, with brass guard with floral decoration. The shagreen grip retaining twist wire binding. Housed in steel scabbard, this with issue stamps indicating the 1st Hampshire Engineer Volunteers 1896. GC etching clear, scabbard with some rust pitting.
1853 Pattern Trooper’s Sword by Parker Field as issued to Mounted Police.A very good and scarce example of the regulation pattern with single edged slightly curved blade with etched cutler’s details to the forte of “PARKER FIELD & SON 233 HOLBORN LONDON” . The hilt with steel three bar open guard and retaining leather panels to the grip. Housed in original steel scabbard, this retaining one of two loose rings. Near VGC.
French Cuirassier’s sword.A good example, the single edged straight spear point blade, with various issue stamps and double fuller. The back of the blade with Arsenal details and date 1822. Brass four bar open guard, this again with various stamps, encloses a leather covered grip with twist wire binding. Housed in its polished steel scabbard with two loose suspension rings. Both guard and scabbard with matching numbers. The overall condition is good. GC.This pattern of sword is similar to that used by the Cuirassier throughout the Napoleonic war and early 19th Century.
14th King’s Hussars 1912 Cavalry Officer’s pattern sword by Wilkinson.A scarce example made by Wilkinson Sword in 1912, the year the pattern was introduced and attributed to Major Francis Peter MacIntyre OBE 14th King’s Hussars. The blade is engraved with crowned GVR crowned cypher, Regimental device and title and floral decoration. Also with initials “F.P.M.” The forte with the cutler’s details of Henry Wilkinson of Pall Mall and is numbered 45780. The solid guard is decorated with floral decoration enclosing the grip with twist wire binding. Housed in steel scabbard and complete with brown leather sword knot. The sword has be professionally restored during its working life and is in near parade condition.The Wilkinson number would indicate a manufacture date of 1912. Major Francis Peter MacIntyre OBE was commissioned into the 14th King’s Hussars on the 4th September 1912, he saw service during the Great War landing in the Middle East on the 14th November 1915, he would remain in this region after the end of the war and was awarded the General Service Medal with “N.W. Persia” clasp, also the OBE for services.
Georgian Napoleonic War Period Royal Welsh Fusiliers Regimental Pattern Officer’s Sword.A rare example of the pattern adopted by the 23rd Foot Circa 1800 to be worn by Field and Flank Officers. The curved flat blade with etched decoration incorporating Prince of Wales Plume, a flaming grenade and regimental title. The hilt of special pattern, the gilt metal cross guard with large oval langets, to the centre Prince of Wales Plume, this surrounded by title “Royal Welch Fuzilers”. The shagreen grip with twist wiring binding and is surmounted by a lion head pommel and backstrap. Housed in original black leather and gilt mounted scabbard. The blade with edge knocks, staining and surface pitting, etching faint.The 23rd Foot wore this pattern circa 1800 to 1809.
Napoleonic War Period 1803 Infantry Pattern Sword possibly carried by a Grenadier Guards Officer.This example with a single edged curved 31 inch blade, hilt with fire gilt bar guard, which in place of the crowned GR cypher is decorated with a flaming grenade with a wreath. The shagreen gip retains twist wire binding and is surmounted by a lion head pommel. Housed in black leather and gilt mounted scabbard. The blade with some areas of pitting and appears to have been polished, no decoration remains. Gilt to the hilt remains bright.
Napoleonic War Period 1803 Infantry Pattern Light Company or Rifle Officer’s Sword.A rare and fine example, the 29 inch blade retain half length blue and gilt decoration (approx. 85% present”. This depicts a crowned GR cypher, Britannia and Stand of Arms. The forte with cutler’s details of “GIBSON THOMSON & CRAIG’S WARRANTED”. The hilt is the regulation pattern, the fire gilt bar guard with crowned GR cypher, this surmounted by a strung bugle. The leather grip with twist wire binding and surmounted by a lion head pommel. Housed in black leather and gilt mounted scabbard. Middle mount slides leather remains good but some age wear. The overall condition is good gilt to blade and hilt bright, one bar of the cross guard cracked.

2nd Bn Leicestershire Regiment Attributed 1854 Pattern Officer’s Sword by Wilkinson. This sword is attributed to Captain George Francis Shaw who died whilst on active service in Burma 1889. The sword is the regulation pattern, the straight blade with etched decoration of a VR cypher, also an armourial crest. The forte with the details of Wilkinson of London and blade with the number 21761. The hilt with fixed brass bar guard, shagreen worn to grip. Scabbard absent. Overall age wear.The blade number confirms that this sword was purchased by G.F. Shaw on the 14th February 1877. He was commissioned into the 2nd Bn Leicestershire Regiment on the 12th February 1876. He was reported as died on the 10th July 1889 and was buried at Myingyan Cemetery Burma.

WW1 Indian Army 1896 Pattern Mountain Artillery Sidearm/Sword.A good clean example with a curved blade stamped to the forte with Indian Army issue stamps. The hilt with steel grip and brass bar guard, the latter with issue stamps indicating 1917. Housed in brown leather scabbard with brass mounts.
3rd Bn North Lancashire Regiment 1856 Pattern Pioneers Short Sword.A good example, the single edged flat sided blade with sharpened back edge point and rear sawback edge. The forte dated “11/00 and cutler’s details of Wilkinson” with various Ordnance stamps. Brass stirrup shape guard with down swept quillon, this with regimental issue stamps “6.02 M 3.N.L. 6”. The brass ribbed slab grips secured by four steel rivets. Housed in its brass mounted leather scabbard. Good clean condition.
Napoleonic War Period Midshipman’s Blue & Gilt Dirk.This example with a straight 7 inch double edged blade, with blue & gilt decoration (70% present). The hilt with turned guard embossed with floral decoration which is repeated to the pommel. Complete with gilt metal scabbard, with two loose rings and floral decoration.
Victorian Royal Navy Officer’s Sword.A regulation example with 30 inch piped back blade. The hilt with gilt folding guard embossed with a crowned fouled anchor, enclosing a white shagreen grip, this surmounted by a lion head gilt pommel. Scabbard absent. Gilt remains bright no etching to blade visible.
