A Moghul rock crystal dagger hilt, 17th/18th century, with probably later watered steel straight blade and scabbard, the hilt with rounded pommel carved with flowers and with gem set detailing, the cloth covered scabbard with damascened lock and chape, (a.f), hilt 12cm.length. Illustrated Provenance; Property of Sir Coleridge Kennard and thence by descent through the family.
2nd century BC. A slender two-edged iron sword within its iron scabbard; the blade, visible within the open sides of the scabbard, lentoid in section and tapering towards the tip, with scooped shoulders and broad flat-section tang; the scabbard with scooped mouth, applied U-section strip to each long edge, held by pairs of lateral clips at the mouth and close to the lower end; the chape formed as a waisted extension with trefoil finial, raised lateral bulbs to the upper face and raised border; to the reverse, two domed studs in circular frames connected by a transverse bar; below the mouth, a strap-slider with arched bow and leaf-shaped panels. 762 grams, 73.5cm (28 3/4"). From an important London collection, acquired in the 1970s. Cf. Fox, Sir C. The sword is held fast within its original iron scabbard, with a slider to the outer face for attachment to the belt at the waist or a baldric over the right shoulder. The hilt fittings would have been made from an organic material: bone, ivory, antler or wood. Fine condition.
3rd-4th century AD. A hollow-formed iron discoid scabbard chape with one flat and one domed face, inlaid silver geometric ornament including arcading and a ten-pointed star. 222 grams, 10cm (4"). From a North Country collection of military artefacts. Cf. Hundt, H.J. Die Spätrömischen Eisernen Dornortbänder, Saalburg Jahrbuch 12, 1953; James, S. Excavations at Dura Europos 1928-1937. A GERMAN M1850 NAVAL BOARDING CUTLASS of regulation pattern, the broad 59cm single-edged blade stamped at the ricasso 'Clemen & Jung / Solingen', to one side, and with an 'S' below a crown, to the other, the large bowl guard with a lobed quillon stamped 'FW / 65' below a crown and 'KM / 1017A', and with a wire-bound ribbed wooden grip, in its black leather-covered wooden scabbard with steel mounts, overall 76cm long.
A GERMAN THIRD REICH MODEL 1933 SA DAGGER RZM M 7/2, the 22cm blade engraved 'Alles fur Deutschland', the crossguard without 'Gruppe' mark, the wooden grip with inset 'SA' button, aluminium eagle and nickel silver mounts, in its painted steel scabbard with nickel silver mounts, overall 37.5cm long.
A BRITISH 1853 PATTERN ENFIELD SOCKET BAYONET the 43cm shallow fullered blade apparently unmarked, in its leather scabbard with brass mounts, overall 53cm long; together with a BRITISH 1876 PATTERN MARTINI-HENRY SOCKET BAYONET, the 55cm shallow fullered blade apparently unmarked, in its leather scabbard with brass mounts, the mount and leather with War Department crowned marks '70', '95', and '97', overall approximately 65cm long (both blades with surface rust that may have obscured further original marks), (2).

Weyersberg / Solingen', to one side, and 'Erfurt', to the other, the back edge marked 'W79' beneath a crown, with a hooked quillon and a brass grip, overall 60cm long, lacking scabbard; and an IMPERIAL GERMAN MODEL 1884/98 MAUSER SAWBACK KNIFE BAYONET, the 25.5cm blade marked at the ricasso 'Erfurt', the back edge marked 'W15' beneath a crown, with a wooden grip, overall 39cm long, lacking scabbard, (2).
A BRITISH 1882 PATTERN CAVALRY TROOPER'S SWORD the 87cm blade bearing various marks at the ricasso, including inspector's number and 'WD' broad arrow device, the Maltese Cross pierced steel bowl guard and steel scabbard with later silver paint finish, overall 104cm long; together with a copy of a photograph showing the sword's original owner in Hussar's uniform; and a North African (Sudanese) sword, the 70cm steel blade swollen towards the tip, with a leather-bound wooden grip and scabbard.
A SECOND WORLD WAR JAPANESE ARISAKA BAYONET bearing arsenal mark at the ricasso, in its steel scabbard; a British SLR bayonet, in its steel scabbard; and a British 1907 pattern bayonet, by Sanderson Bros., with various marks at the ricasso, in its steel mounted leather scabbard with canvas frog, (3).

A bamboo sword stick, 93cm long, together with a walking stick, riding crop and framed map of Great Britain (4) CONDITION REPORT: Lot 164 - Riding crop is in fair condition, walking stick in fair condition, sword stick - scabbard is burnt and charred, collar lacking, sword top lacking, handle cracked (along grain), well worn, map faded and creased in areas.
A British 1908 pattern cavalry sword, chequered composition grip, 89cm fullered blade, metal scabbard - 112cm (overall) CONDITION REPORT: rusting and tarnishing to metal surfaces of scabbard and hilt, chequered grip engraved 'R', blade straight and in good condition with no nicks and point sound. Blade inscribed '7AE' and 'EFD' just below guard. Guard inscribed 11602(?) with an indistinct four digit number under. Sword fits easily into scabbard

Japanese tanto in well carved ivory mounts carved in low relief with dragons chasing the garden pearl on a scaly ground, the hilt carved as a dragon head with internal loose ball wave decoration to the tsuba and suspension loop, signed to pommel, Meiji CONDITION REPORT: 34cm long Blade is significantly shorter then the scabbard 17cm v 25cm Scabbard ring mount is loose and has two cracks, black spotting not unlike vessels throughout the piece
A 19th century sword stick, with inlaid ivory terminal and silver coloured metal mounts. Length 93 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The bottom section of the scabbard is in generally good condition with no break or damage other than the old scuffs and marks that are clearly visible. The brass tip is old but probably a later replacement. The handle is in generally good order. The silver coloured metal band is loose. The ivory terminal is all present and correct but does have stress hairline cracks that are clearly visible in our images. The blade is tarnished but not bent and is marked to each side Solingen and there are various other marks to either side of the name.
