Fine Quality Imperial German Prussian 1889 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword, superb example with a ornate guard incorporating the Imperial eagle, but with fine deep relief of floral scenes, including on the top pommel and along the back strap. The lower part of the guard has a relief of Kaiser Wilhelm II. Black celluloid grip retaining the original wire binding and cipher of Wilhelm II. Leather field serving officers portepee attached to the handle. Housed in its steel scabbard with two hanging rings. Polished straight blade with two small fullers running almost the entire length of the blade. Weyersberg & Co Solingen makers mark and the spine of the blade is stamped 27. Blade 85 ½ cms, overall 103cms.

A Magnificent Quality Imperial German Senior Officer’s Grosser Hilt Pattern Cavalry Sabre circa 1900, formally belonging to a member of the high German nobility. Bright gilded large (grosser pattern) lion head hilt with red glass eyes fitted, the front of the bow guard very finely engraved with his family coat-of-arms. The inside of the guard is also deeply engraved. Fish skin bound grip with copper wire round it. Spear-pointed 82 cms Damascus steel blade, 3cm wide, retaining bright polished finish, gold plated foliage pattern etched on lower 32cms section. Top of the blade gilded and etched with the name of the retailer ‘M.Neumann, Hoflieferant Berlin’, the supplier to the German Royal family. In its original steel scabbard, with 2 polished brass rings. Excellent condition overall. Swords of this quality now seldom appear for sale on the market.

Complete with the original steel scabbard retaining single hanging ring and white leather strap. Fine straight blade with double fullers to three quarter length of the blade. The blade is finely etched with military figures, trophy of arms, foliage and “2. Bair. Schweres Reiter Regiment”, other side of the blade etched with foliage, horse head and scene of a cavalry charge. Blade with early WKC trade mark. Blade 88 ½ cms, overall 106cms. This item has been imported from outside the EU so is subject to a 5% import duty on the hammer price.

Fine Quality WW1 Period Turkish Naval Officers Full Dress Sword, fine German made example with gilded lion head hilt with chassed back strap, folding central guard with anchor and plain back locket to the reverse. Bone grip with original wire binding. Housed in its original leather and brass mounted scabbard. Fine quality slightly curved slender blade etched with foliage, sailing ship and inscription “HOHANNES MEGUERDITCHIAN, CONSTANTINOPLE” to one side and the reverse side etched with sailing ship, star & crescent moon emblem, three stars over anchor, trophy of arms and foliage. Blade also with makers trade mark for Pack Ohliger & Co Solingen, the makers details also etched to the spine of the blade. Much of the original polish remains to the blade. The blade 73 ½ cms, overall 88 ½ cms. A very good example of a scarce sword.

Imperial German 1871 Pattern Sawback Bayonet, fine example with brass hilt and steel cross guard with muzzle ring. Sawback edged blade with fuller to back edge, blade length 46 ¾ cms. Makers mark to the base of the blade W R KIRSCHBAU SOLINGEN, spine stamped with crowned W 75 and acceptance stamp. Housed in its original leather scabbard with brass mount to the bottom, top scabbard mount now absent. Rear of cross guard stamped “172 R 4 226”.

WW2 German SA Dress Dagger by Anton Wingen Jr Solingen, untouched example with its original wooden grip having nickel silver eagle and enamel SA emblem inserted. Lower cross guard is stamped to the reverse with Gau mark “No”. Housed in its original early pattern scabbard with the lower chape fitting having the ball squashed and slightly cracked. Standard double edged blade with motto “Alles fur Deutschland” and makers trade mark to the rear. Some surface pitting to the top section of the blade and some scratches / light sharpening to the edge, but generally still okay. Blade 22cms, overall 36 ½ cms.

Third Reich SA Dress Dagger by Tiger Solingen, untouched example with its original wooden grip, which appears to have a period repair to the lower left hand section. Rear of the grip appears to have been flattened and with a number of indentations. Original polished eagle and enamel SA device to the grip. Lower cross guard is stamped with gau mark “Ns”. Housed in its original scabbard with single hanging ring. Double edged blade with motto “Alles fur Deutschland”. Reverse of the blade has Tiger Solingen makers trade mark. Some surface staining to the blade. The blade measures 22 ¼ cms, overall 37cms.

Third Reich SA Dress Dagger with Erased Rohm Inscription by Ernst Pack & Sohn, untouched example with brown wooden grip having eagle and SA device inserted. Lower cross guard stamped with gau mark “No”. Housed in its original scabbard with single hanging ring. Lower ball fitting to the bottom chape is heavily dented and cracked. Double edged blade with motto “Alles fur Deutschland”, reverse side with remains of the Ernst Pack & Sohn makers trade mark and clear evidence of the Rohm dedication inscription has been removed as per regulations after the night of the long knives. The blade measures 22cms, overall 36 ½ cms.

WW2 German Luftwaffe 1st Pattern Officers Dress Dagger by Tiger Solingen, fine example of a 2nd type 1st model Luftwaffe officers dress dagger with full aluminium fittings. Complete with the blue leather covered grip retaining the original wire binding. Top pommel with mobile swastika retaining much of the original gilt wash finish, lower cross guard with mobile swastikas to the centre, which again retain much of the finish. Blue leather covered scabbard with aluminium fittings and hanging chains. The chains clip stamped to the reverse “GES GESCH” and OLC in diamond. Fine double edged blade retaining much of the original polish. Tiger Solingen makers trade mark to the base of the blade. The blade measures 31cms, overall 49 ½ cms.

Pommel with swastika to both sides and cross guard in the form of a eagle in flight clutching swastika. Housed in its scabbard with two hanging rings. Double edged blade with small makers trade mark for Anton Wingen Jr Solingen. Blade 24 ½ cms, overall 42cms. Some movement in the grip fittings and possibly ferrule replaced as miss-matched in colour to the rest of fittings.
