Ross Rifle Co 1907 Pattern bayonet and leather scabbard, pommel marked Ross Rifle Co/Quebec/Patented 1907, other side 12/11, leather scabbard marked at bottom 1916 Mk II, frog has been engraved 231005 202nd Bn, generally very fine. A check of Canadian records show this was issued to Pte Edwin Henry Barrett 202nd Bn, who served overseas with 50th Infantry Bn arriving in UK 30/11/16, he was wounded in action 19/8/17, promoted Sgt 15/1/18, wounded again 10/8/18 with GSW to chest and died of these wounds 18/8/18 aged 32 and is buried in Terlincthun British Cemetery. A rare casualty attributable bayonet with copied details.

With spare campaign leather scabbard stamped Wilkinson Sword Company London, with leather frog. From the number, the sword was made in 1932.

Grip dicoloured and with suspension loop slightly misshapen. The scabbard is a wood or lacquered wood. The press stud does function however the retaining ring is loose and if not pressed it can be pulled from the scabbard. Cutting edge 63.5cm long, scabbard 73cm long. We are not able show the full tang as the tsuka handle is tightly attached to the tang. Please see additional images.
