Lot 111

A British No.7 Mk.I L Knife Bayonet, the 20cm clip point fullered steel blade stamped to the ricasso at one side NO7MK1L, the opposing side dated 1948 and P within a circle for the Poole Arsenal, the blackened hilt with red/brown Tufnel grip, with blackened steel scabbard and webbing frog. Blade in good condition. The pommel with some wear to the blackened finish. Generally good.

A Prussian Model 1817/1869 Infantry Hanger, the 64cm single edge curved steel blade stamped 1. CS./1306. at the ricasso, the brass stirrup hilt with down-scroll quillon and with ribbed grip, lacks press stud, the black patent leather scabbard with brass mounts, 80cm. The blade has a small nick to the edge towards the tip and has black patching. The hilt has minor bruisng and is lacking its press stud. The surface of the leather scabbard is crazed and the brass chape is possibly a later addition.

An 1840 Model Spanish Infantry Briquet Sword, the 69cm single edge steel blade stamped FCA. DE TOLEDO 1869, the brass stirrup hilt with ribbed grip, possibly a copy; a Copy of an 1840 Model Spanish Infantry Briquet Sword, with brass mounted leather scabbard (2). 1 - Pitting to blade, inscription is stamped rather than engraved. Some jiggle to the blade and hilt. 2 - The lacquered finish to the brass hilt and scabbard mounts has a crizzled surface. The seam of the leather scabbard is missing part of the stitching.

An 18th Century Small Sword, the 71cm diamond section steel blade with narrow fuller to the ricasso stamped VVDEVS, the silver hilt lacking the guard, with finger rings, wrythen fluted grip and shell sheathed pommel, with leather scabbard; a Copy of a Spanish Infantry Sword, the 70cm single edge steel blade stamped Real Fabrica de Toledo. Ano de 1827, the later brass hilt with ribbed ebony grip, lacks scabbard (2). 1 - Nicks to tedge of blade with black patching to the surface. Guard missing from the hilt. No visible hallmarks. Leather scabbard is shabby with parts missing. 2 - Poorly cast hilt, blade probably a marriage.

Spadroon with black patching to blade, one bar of the guard is missing, smsll woodworm holes to the grip. Rapier with brown/grey patina, good condition.

Black patching and pitting to blade, with pitting to hilt and scabbard which would clean off.

Minor black patches to blade with wear to the etching. Some patching to hilt. Scabbard seams coming unstitched in places, with scuffing.

LONDON, EXTRA, and with Proved poincon, the later lacquered/varnished brass gothic hilt with hinged guard, cast with three stars over a fouled anchor, the pommel and backstrap cast with acanthus, oak leaves and acorns, with ribbed fishskin grip, with brass mounted leather scabbard, 99cm . Some black patching to blade. Wire binding to grip is missing. Crack to guard. The scabbard locket is lacking the securing strud. The hilt and scabbard mounts have been later lacquered/varnished.

Rust pitting and grey patching to blades, fine splits to horn grips and dents to scabbard mounts.

A Mid-20th Century Holland and Holland Leather Shotgun Case, with stitched leather strengthened angles, securing straps and rolled leather handle, the hinged cover initialled T.E.P., opening to reveal a maroon baize lined interior fitted to take 30'' barrels, with maker's label and cleaning instructions; 83cm by 23cm by 8cm; a French Model 1866 Chassepot Yataghan Sword Bayonet, with brass hilt and steel scabbard (2). Case in good clean condition. Bayonet with unmarked steel blade, rust pitting to the crossguard and scabbard.

An Early 19th Century Flintlock Service Pistol, .577 calibre, the 23.5cm steel barrel with traces of Birmingham proof marks and numbered 31, the lock plate faintly stamped with crowned 3, the walnut full stock with brass fore-end tip, trigger guard and flat butt plate, with steel ramrod, 38cm; an Indian Kukri, with brass bolster and butt cap to the wood grip, with leather scabbard (2). 1 - Action works, holds at full and half cock. Top jaw of cock is missing. Brown patina to the metal with pitting. Left side of stock has an empty roundel recess between the two screws. There is a small crack to the left side of the grip where the butt plate sits. There is minor bruising to the stock. Kukri is circa 1980's. Split to the grip.

A Victorian 1853 Pattern Tower Three Band Percussion Rifle, .577 calibre, the 99cm steel barrel with hinged ladder rear sight, stamped with various inspectors marks and Sold Out of Service arrows, the lock plate faintly marked with a crowned VR, 1857/TOWER, the walnut full stock with spring clips to the steel barrel bands, brass fore-end tip, trigger guard and butt plate, with steel sling swivels and ramrod, the right side of the butt with PIMLICO roundel enclosing Sold Out of Service arrows, the left side stamped THOMAS,140cm, together with a socket bayonet in a leather scabbard. Strong action works, holds at full and half cock. Rust pitting to the steel work and bruising to stock.
