Japanese WWII Kai Gunto naval marine officer's sword, 1934 pattern Toyokawa Naval Arsenal steel blade, tang stamped (anchor in a circle), push-fit, single Shin Gunto ashi, wood lined, plain black-lacquered scabbard. Brown tsuka-ito (hilt binding) over black same, matching number on the tsuba, seppa, kuchi-gane and habaki, nr 50. Sword type is associated with the Special Naval Landing Forces, blade length, approx 65 cms in length.
French Model 1866 Chassepot socket bayonet, brass hilt engraved 55172, approx 57 cms in length, engraved Chatellerault, fullered blade, no scabbard. The second is a French sword socket bayonet, brass and wood hilt, manufactured for a Gras Rifle engraved M1874, engraved St Etienne, approx 52 cms in length, fullered blade, no scabbard. The third is a 19th century Lebel rifle bayonet, M1886 needle type, diamond-form blade approx 63 cms in length, no scabbard. (3)
A JADE, TURQUOISE AND CORAL-INLAID GILT-BRONZE-MOUNTED DAGGER AND SCABBARDLate Qing DynastyWith broad slightly curved single-edged blade cut with a narrow fuller along the back on each side, the hilt comprising shaped jade guard and mottled green/grey nephrite grip of khanjar form, in its gilt scabbard with elaborate mounts variously embossed, pierced and chased in relief with foliage inhabited by chilong set with turquoise and other stones, the suspension mount formed in the round as a chilong and carrying two rings for suspension. 41cm (16 1/8in) long. An Edward VII Royal Artillery sword with leather scabbard together with two other swords (3)There does not appear to be any dents on the parts of the scabbard that is metal. However, both scabbards are mostly leather. The scabbard on the larger sword has been bent out of shape at the bottom, probably from being stood on its tip for a long time. The tip is missing from the larger sword and the third swords blade is snapped, remainder of the blade missing. The smaller of the two complete swords has a slightly bend blade. Only the larger complete sword has makers markings, image included.
