An Indian sword (tulwar), curved and wavy edged blade 33 in. and double edged for the last 10 1/2 in., broad fuller to each side extending almost to the tip, impressed decoration between the fuller and the blade back, characteristic Indo-Muslim hilt adorned with dense leaf and flowerhead design in gold koftgari, disc pommel finished with a domed finial with pierced border; in an associated green velvet covered scabbard with white metal chape.

According to the vendor the sword was given to his father, a member of the Hong Kong police, by a Japanese officer, upon his release from prison at the end of WWII.
