A French 1896 pattern cavalry officer's sword with cast Medusa Head basket, wire bound wooden grip, inscribed and dated 1914, blade length 89cm, scabbard length 92cm.Condition: bakset is a little loose fitting to the grip with play, wires appear in tact, general surface wear throughout, no major damage/nicks to the blade, surface wear and very minor dent to scabbard but overall good, appears re polished and cleaned throughout.
