Royal Marines Officer's "Sword of Honour" by Wilkinson of London.A extremely rare example presented to Second Lieutenant M.A. Le Breton in 1985. The sword is the regulation pattern. The obverse of the blade is etched with a Crowned EIIR cypher and presentation "Second Lieutenant M.A. Le Breton Royal Marines". The reverse is with regimental title and Globe and Laurels and further presentation script "The Royal Marines Sword of Honour Presented by the Admiralty Board for Meritorious Results 19 April 1985". The forte with the cutler's details of Wilkinson and the blade is numbered "117372" Infantry pattern guard with EIIR Cypher; shagreen grip and twist wire binding. Housed in polished brown leather field service scabbard. The overall condition is good and is near parade condition, but PLEASE NOTE slight damp damage with light rusting to the top of the blade and a little to the throat of the scabbard. Needs a small amount of attention.Lieutenant M.A. Le Breton was appointing Acting Second Lieutenant 3rd May 1984, Lieutenant 1st May 1988 and was transferred to the Emergency List 1992.

The solid gilt guard with twist decoration, the shell guard, is embossed with a crowned entwined VR Cypher. The grip is of twist wire and the pommel in the form of a Crown. Scabbard absent wear to the blade.

The forte dated "10/00 and cutler's details of Wilkinson" with various Ordnance stamps and stamped "N". Brass stirrup shape guard with down swept quillon. and brass ribbed slab grips secured by four steel rivets. Housed in its brass mounted leather scabbard. Clean condition.
Victorian Royal Navy Midshipman's dirk.An example, retailed through Seagrove & Co of Portsmouth. The blade is etched with a Crowned fouled anchor and a Crowned entwined VR cypher. The shagreen grip is with wire binding and surmounted by a lion's head pommel. Scabbard and catch button absent. The etching to blade is clear, but blade with some surface pitting.
2nd Life Guards Officer's State pattern sword.A good scarce Edward VII period example, the single edged spear point blade with retailer's name of Hawkes & Co. London and is etched with a Crowned EVIIR Cypher and battle honours "Peninsula", "Waterloo" , the last being "South Africa 1899-1900" and "Paardeberg". The reverse again with Crowned Regimental Crest. The plated guard is mounted with entwined gilt metal letters L.G 2 surmounted by a Crown and bears gilt metal stud decoration. Shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Housed in original steel scabbard with gilt metal mounts and two loose rings. The sword has minor age wear, etching remains clear and has been professionally refurbished during it's working life. GCDuring the period 1901 to 1910 only 15 Officers were commissioned into the Regiment.
Royal Navy Attributed Officer's Sword by Wilkinson of London.A good post 1901 example, carried by Commander Lewis Bernard Alexander Majendie DSC, who is credited with the destruction of U-445 1944. The blade etched with Royal Arms and crowned fouled anchor. The solid gilt metal guard emblazoned with a crowned fouled anchor. To the forte the cutler's details of Wilkinson and retailer's details of "Gieves". White shagreen grip surmounted by a gilt metal lion's head pommel. Within the gilt guard is engraved the name "L.B.A. Majendie". Housed in original black leather and gilt mounted scabbard fitted with two loose rings; complete with bullion sword knot. Etching to blade remains clear, blade with some rusting and surface pitting, spots, crease to the scabbard. GCCommander Lewis Bernard Alexander Majendie DSC was appointed a Midshipman in the Royal Navy on the 2nd August 1914, he was present at the Battle of Jutland serving as a Assistant Navigation Officer. Acting Sub Lieutenant January 1917 and confirmed in September 1917. Lieutenant 1919 and remaining with the Royal Navy Lt Commander 1927. He retired with the rank of Commander 1938 and was attached to the RAF. Recalled at the outbreak of WW2 he commanded the Sloop HMS Fowey and on the 20th November 1942 whilst picking up survivors of a merchant ship was torpedoed and sunk by U-263. He was later given command of HMS Wren a Sloop and HMS Glenarm a Frigate. On the 7th May 1944 he was given Command of HMS Louis another Frigate on on the 24th August 1944 engaged and sunk U-445 in the Bay of Biscay. He was awarded the DSO in January 1945.
Irish Guards WW1 Attributed Casualty Officer's sword.A scarce example, carried by Lieutenant Andrew Lusk Bain, of the 1st Bn who was Killed in Action on the 4th November 1918. The blade is etched with the crowned regimental device of the Order of St Patrick and decorated with a GvR crowned cypher. Also with the original owner's details of "A.L. Bain 30/8/16". The forte with the retailer's details of "A & T.A. Thompson" of London. The regimental device can also be found in the open guard of the hilt. Housed in steel scabbard. Overall condition VGC, near Parade Condition.Lieutenant Andrew Lusk Bain, served with the OTC prior to being Commissioned into the Irish Guards, he embarked to France after January 1916 and was Killed in Action on the 4th November 1918

1861 Victorian Norwich Rifle Volunteers Presentation Sword.This is an example of a specially commissioned 1827 Light Infantry pattern sword. The blade with full length engraved decoration with presentation panel "This sword was presented with a Henrys Rifle to Captain Middleton by the Officer's and Privates of No.1 Company Norwich Rifle Volunteers as a token of the high regard and esteem October 1861". Also engraved with an Armorial crest. The hilt of regulation pattern incor[porating a crown strung bugle device. The shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Blade decoration is clear, some overall minor age wear and dulling. PLEASE NOTE scabbard absent.

The blade appears to be later than the basket guard, but matching patina and wear would indicate the pair have been associated for a long period. Blade with some pitting.

Polished steel clipped back blade, each side etched with HRH Princess Louise's crowned cypher and thistle decoration. Boar's head crest of the Argyll family to one side, the Mountain Cat of the Sutherlands to the other. Bog oak carved grip ornamented with silvered studs and surmounted by silvered pommel bearing a foiled citrine. Scabbard of black patent leather with silvered regimental mounts supporting knife and fork both ornamented with a matching foiled citrine. Complete with a black leather and a black leather belt frog. Small amount of age wear GC.
