A Late 18th/Early 19th Century Indo/Persian Pesh Kabz, the 23.5cm woost blade with koftgari decoration to the ricasso and ferrule, with silver grip and slightly beaked pommel, the crimson velvet covered scabbard with copper gilt chape chased with fanned foliage, 42.5cmSmall black patches to the edge of the blade. Wear to the gold koftgari at the ferrule. Two dings to the edge of the right side of the pommel. Velvet pile is very worn on the scabbard and the chape has a small diagonal repair to one side.

An 1870 first pattern' Lead Cutter No 2' by Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London:, the straight single edge blade with double edge tip signed as per title, over a regulation steel bowl hilt and guard and ribbed handle, together in a gilt brass mounted black leather scabbard, (lacks throat mount) blade length 77cm.*Notes-The lead cutter was a popular sword in the 19th century resembling an over sized Naval cutlass. They were produced in several sizes and weights for strength training and feats of swordsmanship. Wilkinson was the main producer of this style of sword in several sizes, No 1 being the lightest and No 4 the heaviest. They were used predominantly for displays such as dissevering a sheep carcass in half or a balanced lead bar with a single blow.

After the Antique, a carved serpentine marble sculpture, "The Dying Gaul", 19th century, his unsheathed sword and scabbard beside him, his shield beneath on a textured ground and polished oval base. Width 73 cm, height 40 cm, depth 34 cm. CONDITION REPORT: On first appearance all is intact however under close inspection one finds that the base is a separate piece to the remainder. The base has been broken into three pieces and a repair has been affected by use of a long rivet bar and some form of resin type adhesive. However, this is not a recent repair. His left leg has a large circumference crack around the top of his leg and a further circumference crack that has been repaired just below his knee. The pads and toes of his right foot have broken off and been reattached. The broken tip of his horn has a small chip. Given the faults mentioned this remains a very decorative item.
Chilean cavalry troopers sword, late 19th/early 20th century, having slightly curved and fullered blade, the arms of Chile stamped to one side at Forte and engraved in French to the back strap, manufacture D'Armes de Chatellerault with inspectors initials J.H. with ribbed composition semi pistol grip and forward sloping cap shaped pommel, within a steel scabbard with single suspension ring, blade 84.5 cm.
A Chilean cavalry troopers sword, 19th/early 20th century, having a slightly curved fullered blade, with "Arms of Chile" stamped on one side at Forte, and engraved to the back strap "Manufacture D'Armes de Chatellerault" and inspectors initials J.H. steel semi basket guard with slots, the outer guard struck with numbers, having a ribbed composition semi pistol grip and sloping cap shaped pommel, all within a polished steel scabbard with single suspension ring, length 89.5 cm (see illustration).
A Malayan Kris, 19th century, the ebonised handle intricately carved with flowers and leafy fronds, with silver coloured collar, the wood scabbard with two silver coloured metal bands with embossed foliate decoration and with further single silver coloured wire bands, the blade 54.5 cm, 59 cm overall.
A bone handled Khukri in leather scabbard with silver coloured metal embossed mounts, set with coloured stones, two further Khukri and a Mirasol Machete, the blade stamped N2 127 within a leather scabbard, blade 40.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are some small chips to the raised band around the bone handle. The blade is oiled and shows evidence of being sharpened. The metalwork to the handle is dark and pitted. The Khukri does not pull clearly from the sheath and has to be manipulated. The accompanying small accessories have wooden handles on which the blades have been greased and have slight pitting. The leather scabbard has a few small scuffs but is in generally good order. The metal mounts are missing some coloured stones to the settings. The tip of the scabbard is creased and dented. The wooden handled Khukri pulls cleanly from the scabbard and has a greased blade which is pitted throughout. The leather around the wood interior is missing on the tip and also along the base and the top of the scabbard. The frog appears to be in good order. Two smaller tools belong to the knife are worn and pitted. The smaller wooden handled Khukri is missing its tools however it has a greased blade with very light pitting. There is some leather missing from the top of the scabbard at the rear. It is showing signs of wear and tear commensurate with age. The Machete is in good order with a greased blade (the grease of which has now hardened). The handle has some small minor knocks but nothing too detrimental. The other scabbard has a hole in the tip but is otherwise good.
Two North African daggers, each with wooden handle and leather scabbard. Length 30 cm. CONDITION REPORT: One dagger has a turned wood knop with small chips and it maybe that there is decoration missing from the lower part of the handle. The blade is intact but has rust spots and rust patches throughout. The sheath is in good condition albeit with scuffed areas through wear and tear. The leather handled dagger appears to be in good order throughout with a few minor rust spots to the blade. The sheath and handle appear to be in good order with no obvious faults.
Group of assorted edged weapons to include: an Asian short sword in wooden scabbard with wooden grip; another similar carving knife in wooden scabbard with wooden grip; a decorative brass hilted, Spanish style, curved dagger and a J. A Third Reich Forestry official’s dress cutlass, of similar style to an Assistant Foresters, the 13” plated blade etched with panels depicting deer in a woodland setting and hunter shooting at a stag, the gilt hilt having shell guard and ivorine grips with gilt acorns, in its gilt mounted leather sheath. GC, the blade VGC, the gilt good (slight wear to scabbard leather, one grip ill fitting, possibly due to shrinkage). Plate 7
A good first pattern Luftwaffe officer’s dagger, the whorl pattern damascus blade bearing a Luftwaffe eagle at each end of inscription “Jagdgeschwader 5 (Eismeerjager)” and logo of E.P. & S Solingen; the hilt mounts of aluminium with gilt swastikas, with blue leather covered wire bound grip; in its blue leather covered scabbard with silver plated mounts and with aluminium hanging chains. GC (the scabbard slightly worn).
A good scarce Third Reich SA Rohm dagger, the blade bearing pre 1935 Eickhorn mark and full Rohm dedication inscription, hilt with nickel silver mounts and stamped on the crosspiece “Fr” (SA Group Franken), in its anodised scabbard with nickel silver mounts and scarce brown leather triple hanging strap. GC, a clean example
A rare Third Reich 1936 pattern Marine NSKK dagger, the blade bearing RZM mark over maker’s code “M7/66” (Carl Eickhorn) and date “1939”, hilt with plated mounts, in its black painted scabbard with hanging chains, the upper links bearing RZM and NSKK stamps. GC (the hilt, mounts and chains retaining only very faint traces of gold coloured finish).
An interesting German railway officials sword c 1925, straight SE plated blade 32”, brass hilt with small turn down shell guard bearing winged wheel in wreath, roped and foliate crossguard, panelled knucklebow into wreath and plain ball pommel, writhen grip, in its leatherette (some wear) covered scabbard with brass mounts, the chape and locket with eagle wings, wheel and wavy line device, the middle band with 4 winged wheel. GC (some wear, traces of gilt wash to mounts)
A Third Reich Mining Service (Bergbau) official’s sabel, plated blade 33” with impressed maker’s mark beneath the langet (“-O&Co”?), etched on both sides with panels of foliage, trophies, Bergbau insignia, and motto “Gluck Auf”, the back edge etched “Mohr & Speuer, Ho--ie-eranten, Koln”, the plain brass hilt having silver Bergbau insignia on one langet and wire bound fishskin covered grip, in its plain brass mounted leather scabbard. A Vic 1845 pattern infantry officer’s sword, very slightly curved, SE blade 32½”, by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London, no 14461 (for 1866) on backstrap, etched on both sides with crowned VR cypher in scrolled fenestrated panels, regulation pierced brass hilt incorporating crowned VR cypher, stepped pommel, backstrap with plain thumbpiece, wirebound white fishskin grip, leather liner, gilt and crimson knot (some wear), in its brass mounted leather scabbard with 2 rings and Wilkinson logo in shield on locket. An Edward VIII (1936) officer’s sword of The Royal Regiment of Artillery, very slightly curved fullered blade 34”, etched with crowned Royal Arms, ERVIII cypher in Union wreath with “Ubique” scroll and cannon, in scrolled Union wreath panels on one side and winged lightning with “Royal” and “Artillery” in similar panels on the other side, plated hilt with knucklebow, sideloop and 2 sidebars, stepped pommel, chequered backstrap, in its leather field service scabbard, original owner Major Leonard Francis. An IX sidearm, curved, flat SE blade 23”, with clear stamps at forte and marked “Manufre Imple du Klingtnthal, Juin 1815” on backstrap (just in time for Waterloo?!), regulation solid brass hilt with knucklebow, quillon, plain pommel and backstrap, ribbed grip, in its brass mounted panelled black leather scabbard. GC Plate 9
A late 18th century light company officer’s service sword, plain steeply curved, flat blade 26”, DE at point, pronounced steel stirrup hilt, the crossguard with langets, into knucklebow and plain forward sloping pommel and backstrap, ribbed leather (worn) covered grip, in its steel scabbard (some shallow dents) with 2 rings, marked “Prosser....” (unclear) with dress knot (worn). Basically GC for age.
A 1796 pattern light cavalry trooper’s sword, broad curved shallow fullered blade 32½”, marked “Iosh.H. Reddell & Co” on backstrap, and with inspector’s stamp at forte, regulation steel hilt with langets, knucklebow, plain pommel and backstrap with “ears”, leather covered ribbed grip, in its steel scabbard (one or two minor dents) with 2 rings. GC, with a good dark patina to hilt and scabbard.
A sheet silver mounted Burmese dha, slightly curved, swollen SE blade 12½”, hilt and scabbard of traditional form, sheet silver covered overall, with finely wirebound grip, and filigree bands, those at the end of the scabbard set with 2 finely worked rosettes on each side, scarlet cord centre binding with belt loop. GC Plate 7
