An Imperial German artillery officer’s sword, plated pipe backed blade 32½”, DE at point, by Weyersberg, Kirschbaum Solingen, etched with crowned R Arms and supporters on one side and crowned FR cypher in wreath on the other, in short stylized gilt panels, with “Eisenhauer” below the cypher, gilt hilt, with lion’s head quillon, crossguard and langets bearing crossed cannon on one side and plain escutcheon on the other, pronounced stirrup knucklebow embossed with crowned R Arms in stylized foliate scrolls, lion’s head pommel, foliate backstrap and lower band, wirebound fishskin grip, in its (repainted) black steel scabbard with single ring. A Crimean War period, officer’s sword of the Grenadier Guards, slightly curved, fullered blade 34½” by Wilkinson, no 6152 (for 1855), on backstrap etched on one side with crowned VR cypher, laurel wreath and 5 battle honour scrolls “Lincelles” to “Waterloo” in foliate scrolls, and on the other with crowned grenade, laurel wreath, scrolls “Alma” and “Inkerman”, 3 blank scrolls and blank escutcheon, steel hilt incorporating grenade, stepped pommel and backstrap with chequered thumb piece, wirebound fishskin grip (hilt reseated) in steel scabbard retaining a little original plating with 2 rings. Mid 19th century French naval cutlass, 68cm slightly curved fullered blade, stamps at forte, etched with an anchor on both sides and engraved 'Manufure Rale de Chatellerault Juin 1840' on backstrap, iron half basket guard, facetted cap shaped pommel and grip, leather and brass mounted scabbard
An 18th or early 19th Century Burmese Dha dagger, the silver sheathed scabbard enclosing a plain blade, the handle intricately carved in ivory, depicting Hanuman or Bilu, 28.8cm total length, handle 7.5cm long CONDITION REPORTS Handle has splits, knocks, etc, to the ivory conducive with age and use. Is also very dirty. Sheath silver is ripped and there are large areas missing revealing exposed wood. Blade has nibbles to the edge conducive with age, use and wear. The collar has general wear, surface scratching, etc. There is some - what appears to be solder and the end is slightly askew but it looks as though that has been done more during manufacturing than a later repair. A Victorian infantry officer's dress sword by J B Johnstone of Sackville Street London, the engraved blade with Royal cipher, the pierced knuckleguard similarly decorated, enclosing a wirework and shagreen grip, housed in a brown leather covered scabbard, blade 83 cm long CONDITION REPORTS In used condition with wear to the leather scabbard, looks very dry, some scuffing in places and top metal of scabbard show signs of rust. The sword has signs of pitting along the blade and some scratches, in pitting some rusting, top of the sword the knuckle guard is rusted and there is more rusting at the top of blade in this area (see images) the handle - dirty with some scratches and some rusting with in the corners of the decoration, the back of the handle show further signs rusting (see images) end of handle screw is rusted. The handle is worn and rubbed and slightly discoloured
An 1845/Patt Victorian Infantry Officer's sword, the blade etched with Crown and Swags, the hilt gilded brass, retaining a lot of the gilding. This is without a hinged flap so post 1854 (overall good), the scabbard old paint block overall, blade marked to top Rob Holmes & Sons, Birmingham, makers to the War and Industry.
