AN AMERICAN PRESENTATION SWORD, 76cm blade by SPARTAN etched with scrolling foliage, eagles, stands of arms and US, presentation panel to Walter C Berner, regulation three-bare steel hilt, bakelite grip, contained in its steel scabbard engraved Presented to W C Berner by enlisted men of Co. D 113th Infantry June 1 1935, together with an Imperial German sword etched In Treue Fest to either side, associated scabbard. (2) Walter Berner was the President of A. V. Berner & Co, a New York based freight company, he was also went on to become a Lt Colonel. The 113th Infantry were the New Jersey National Guard.
A MAGNIFICENT AND LARGE EXHIBITION QUALITY BOWIE KNIFE, 35.5cm clipped back blade stamped MANSON SHEFFIELD at the forte and with the UNION handshake emblem, white metal mounted hilt, the crossguard composed of two opposing heads facing the pommel, reeded wooden grip set with a white metal escutcheon to either side, one of coffin form and one of shield form, bold horse's head pommel, contained in its white metal mounted red Morocco leather scabbard with gilt Greek key border and central foliate spray. The large size of this piece, 55.5cm over all, combined with the quality would suggest that it was either an exhibition piece, display piece or special commission. Manson of Sheffield was a prolific supplier of cutlery hilted Bowie knives in the 19th Century.
A .650 CALIBRE PATTERN 42 PERCUSSION CONSTABULARY CARBINE 26.5inch barrel, fitted beneath with a Lovell's catch, border engraved lock stamped 1854 over TOWER and with a crown over VR at the tail, full stocked with regulation brass mounts, the stock stamped ICR the butt plate tang stamped M.33 over S.B.C, steel ramrod, complete with bayonet and scabbard.
A BALKAN SHORT SWORD, 48.5cm fullered blade with clipped back point engraved with the crescent moon face and stars at the forte, characteristic carved wooden hilt with steel mounts, splits, contained in its leather scabbard, together with a composite dagger and a momento mori dagger, traces of etched and blued decoration to the blade. A 17TH CENTURY DUAL KNIFE SET IN STUMPWORK CASE, the first knife with 11.5cm blade, struck with maker and region marks of a dagger and cross, foliate gold damascene decorated collar, rubbed, fine pierced filigree work pommel, grip lacking, tang with brass wrap, the second knife bearing identical markings and decoration, lacking tang wrap and pommel, contained in a stumpwork wrapped wooden scabbard, worn, decorated with foliage and flower heads and what appears to be a stylised mitre or church spire to either side. The brass wrap to the tang that exists on the first knife may suggest the handles were of rock crystal.
A ROYAL SCOTS FUSILIERS OFFICER'S BASKET HILTED BROADSWORD, 82cm fullered blade by Wilkinson, serial no. 58769 for 1921, etched with thistles, regimental motifs and owner's name P.H. MC.MONAGLE, regulation plated basket hilt composed of flattened bars united by heart pierced junction plates, contained in its field service scabbard complete with chamois liner and tassle, together with a plated basket hilt, worn, and an empty sporran tin. A THIRD QUARTER 18TH CENTURY SCOTTISH DIRK, 36cm blade struck with three marks that bear a resemblance to government marks of a crown over an inverted arrow, characteristic brass mounted hilt, the grip carved with Celtic knotwork, flattened spherical brass pommel cap, contained in its brass mounted leather scabbard with linear and saltire decoration. Companion knife and fork absent.
A CLEAN GVR HIGHLAND LIGHT INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD, 82cm fullered blade by Wilkinson, serial no. 47261, etched with scrolling thistle sprays, crowned HIGHLAND LIGHT INFANTRY and crowned GVR cypher, regulation plated basket hilt composed of flattened rounded bars united by heart-pierced junction plates, wire bound fishskin grip, contained in its field service scabbard, complete with conventional crossguard.

A 1796 PATTERN HEAVY CAVALRY OFFICER'S DRESS SWORD, 80cm flattened diamond section blade with short central fuller, regulation copper hilt with boat shell guard, D-shaped knuckle bow, ovoid pommel, ribbed wooden grip, contained in its steel scabbard. Guard loose. While all the characteristics of this pattern of sword are present, there is a possibility that this is in fact a general officer's sword of the same period.
