K.' to the other, plain curved fullered blade, in original black painted scabbard with dress knot and original leather suspender with clip
George IV 1822 pattern Infantry Officers' sword with gilt brass Gothic hilt with crowned GR IV cipher, etched pipeback blade, by Salter Sword Cutter to HRH The Duke of Sussex, 35 Strand, London, crowned GR IV cipher in panel, in original brass Field Officer Rank scabbard. N.B. Salter was only at 35 Strand until 1824, so this sword was made within two years of the pattern's introduction
Late 19th century Japanese carved bone tanto dagger with carved figure in landscape decoration, straight blade with rear fluke to tip, the blade 20cm - 30cm overall, in its original black lacquered box with orange velvet fitted interior, 35cm CONDITION REPORT Overall condition fair, some splits to bone on hilt and scabbard. Scabbard has been re-glued, blade in good order
AN OFFICERS SWORD. A Victorian officers sword with single-edged 32.1/2" slightly curved blade. Brass hilt and VR cypher in the guard, also on the blade. Brown leather swordknot and scabbard with nickel plated mounts, also a carrycase. No visible maker, with faint decoration visible to the fuller.
A COMMANDO DAGGER. A Commando Dagger with finely knurled brass hilt, straight flat quillion and 6.1/4" double-edged blade. In a brown leather scabbard, lacking its chafe. Also a Sheath Knife with Geo Grose & Co Scout Outfitters of Ludgate Circus EC4. The shortened single edged blade of 4.3/8" (tip damaged) in length, in a brown leather scabbard. (2)
AN IMPERIAL GERMAN OFFICERS SWORD. A late Imperial German Artillery officers Dress Sword, with red eyes in the Lions Mask pommel. Exceptionally clean slightly curved, plated 30.3/4" blade with makers mark WKC. This is partially hidden by the gilt langets, one of which has crossed cannon decoration. Ornately decorated stirrup hilt of Lions Mane and acorns etc, swept forward quillion with again a Lions Mask. Nickel finish scabbard with twin hanging loops, the plating is also in very good condition. See Illustration
AN OFFICERS SWORD. A Grenadier Guards Officers Sword by Henry Wilkinson of Pall Mall London. Complete with a brown leather scabbard, The blade is decorated each side with Battle Honours, Blenheim to Barrosa on one side, Peninsula to Suakin 1886. Number 31605, rusting is evident on parts of the hilt and the 32.1/4" plated blade
AN 1805 PATTERN ROYAL NAVY LIEUTENANTS SWORD. An 1805 Pattern Naval Lieutenants 'Lighweight' or Dress Sword. Ornate hilt with stirrup guard bearing entwined foilage, anchor and crown decorated langets. Straight tapering six-sided narrow blade of 27.3/4" length. Lightly etched decoration, to the first few inches of the blade, lacking a scabbard.
A 19thC CEREMONIAL-MASONIC DAGGER. With a brass Skeleton in a shroud cast hilt, with a snake at its feet and flat quillion. Double edged foilage pattern etched blade with two full and one partial fuller, some 11.1/4" long. Brass ornately decorated scabbard mounts, upon wood and leather base. All the mounts show traces of gilding, when made. See Illustration
AN S A DAGGER. An SA Dagger with UJN stamped on the crossguard, complete with painted scabbard and belt loop and clip. Makers mark for Christianswerk-Solingen, horizontal three-pronged fork design in an oval. Ulles fur Deutfchland motto on the reverse side of the double-edged 9.3/4" blade. See Illustration
A 1796 LIGHT CAVALRY PATTERN VARIANT SWORD. A 1796 Variant Sword in the Light Cavalry style, with steel mounted scabbard. The clean short 1796 blade of 28" in length, has no visible markings. The grip has been rebound and has a shaped backstrap, like the hilt in steel. The scabbard has also been refurbished, making an interesting variant or private purchase sword.
AN 18thC GENTLEMAN'S SMALLSWORD. A silver mounted gentleman's smallsword with a rapier type triangular blade of 32.1/2" in length. The ornate stirrup hilt and partial guard, lacks the silver wire to it's wooden grip. Hallmarks W.K and Year letter for (1774) are on the quillions, W .K (William Kinman a listed silver hilt maker) and the lion are on the damaged guard. The throat silver mount of the missing scabbard is on the blade, Bennett Royal Exchange is punched on it. John Bennett of the Royal Exchange, known for fine Flintlock Pistols and high standards of workmanship. Circa (1771-1800)
A CAVALRY SWORD. An officers 1821 pattern Cavalry Sword, with steel scabbard. The blade of 36" length, is marked Hawkes & Moseley & Co, London. Manufacturers to the Queen. VR under a radiant crown, amid foilage and proved on the back edge. Some rust evident, mostly around the throat of the blade . The steel honeysuckle style guard shows some rusting, the steel scabbard appears to lack its wooden inner's.
A 19thC SIDEARM & SCABBARD. An early Customs or Coastguards 19thC sidearm or hanger with curved single-edged 25.1/2" blade with three-quarter fuller. The blade is marked on the rib, F Deakin Cast Steel, the hilt of cast brass. The scabbard of leather with brass mounts . F Deakin is recorded as a Birmingham maker in 1821. Formerly of Woolley & Deakin C1800 onwards.
2ND Norfolk Rifle (East Norfolk) Volunteer Reserves - An 1854 Pattern Rifle Volunteers Infantry Officer’s Sword by Hobson’s & Sons of Little Windmill Street, London the 82cm slightly curved polished blade etched with VR cypher beneath royal crown, slung bugle device and panels of foliage, inscribed ‘Norfolk 2nd Rifle Volt. RS’ the regulation gilt brass pierced ‘Gothic’ hilt enclosing VR cartouche with wire-bound fish-skin grip and gold knot in its polished steel scabbard, 99cm overall
