A 19th Century French enamelled Romantic dagger or letter opener, 8cm sharply curved flattened diamond section blade, the hilt decorated in the classical manner with scrolling foliage highlighted in gilt on a blue and white enamel ground, contained in its cast gilt metal scabbard decorated ensuite.
A Spanish or Mediterranean Punal or Ripoll dagger, 23cm double fullered blade chiselled with geometric designs and inlaid with brass decorated with scrolling foliage, the reinforced brass covered forte decorated en suite, characteristic brass hilt, contained in its brass scabbard, both decorated to match.
A fine white metal mounted 19th Century Continental hunting dirk in the Corsican fashion, 12cm sharply tapering blade, faceted white metal mounted hilt finished with tortoiseshell panels, contained in its white metal mounted tooled leather scabbard, the upper mount with belt hook fashioned in the form of an acorn and two leaves.
A scarce Octagonal Hilted Commando Knife, 17.2cm flattened diamond section blade with slightly off-set medial ridge, sharpened for use and with blackened finish, characteristic crossguard and octagonal cast alloy hilt with flush fitted pommel nut, contained in its textured leather scabbard. Generally in very good condition though the casting of the grip is slightly crude and misformed towards the pommel. Please refer to plate 161 on page 71 of Ron Flook's book British and Commonwealth Military Knives for an identical knife and scabbard, the only difference being that the knife illustrated has a proud pommel nut. By descent the property of 2nd Lt Phillip Leonard Davison Yorks & Lancs Regiment, who served in the Norway Campaign where he was wounded and then captured. There is no suggestion that this knife was carried by Davison in Norway, having had the lower part of his leg removed due to a grenade blast he was repatriated from Germany in 1943 so may have acquired it upon his return. Davison went on to serve as a Major in the Territorial Army. As far as this knife is concerned academics will be interested to learn that Davison hailed from Sheffield and his Father was a member of the management team at H H Swann & Son, while principally saw maker's this may suggest a clue to the origins of this type of knife.

A fine quality gold highlighted Malayan kris, 32cm wavy blackened watered steel blade deeply chiselled at the forte and decorated with scrolling foliage and flowers highlighted in gold, sparsely carved wooden hilt of characteristic form with finely detailed yellow metal filigree collar, contained in its sharply carved pale wooden topped scabbard with sparse dark knot highlights, the remainder with burnt orange lacquer, complete with orange transit bag.

A late 19th Century ivory hilted kris, 36cm wavy watered steel blade deeply chiselled at the forte, archaically carved ivory hilt decorated over all in the manner of a stylized fern, gilt filigree collar set with polished and faceted white stones, contained in its brass wrapped wooden scabbard.
A 19th Century Dyak Head Hunters sword or Mandau, 49cm characteristic heavy set blade chiselled and turned to the underside of the forte and to the top edge of the tip, further embellished with cross hatched decoration about the forte, cord bound carved bone hilt, contained in its reed bound carved wooden scabbard decorated with scrolling foliage.
A fine and unusual 19th Century gilt hilted Indian sword, 67cm wavy Wootz steel blade decorated with panels of gold damascene at the forte, a further gold mark just above and a narrow panel of calligraphy along the back edge, the hilt of characteristic Khanjar form with a bird's head pommel, the whole decorated with panels of gold damascene scrolling foliage and flower heads, bordered with panels of geometric designs, contained in its velvet wrapped wooden scabbard.
