The reverse of the hilt with clear Crown over M 1890 II W.D. 88 stamp, this is in part repeated to the top mount of the scabbard. The straight 43 cm blade etched with sailing ship trophies of war and crowned fouled anchor. Housed in its leather scabbard with brass gilt mounts and frog stud, the chape gilt is worn to the base steel. Blade near VGC.

Brown wooden grip inlaid with silvered eagle and swastika and enamelled circular SA device; crossguard stamped with WF (Westtfalen district). Housed in original scabbard with nickel mounts, the top mount with single suspension ring retaining brown leather hanging strap. The overall condition is good, very tip to blade missing, scabbard with pitting and surface cleaning scratch marks. SA (Sturmabteilung) “Brown Shirts” dagger introduced in 1933.

1st Life Guards Officer state sword of Robert Lindsay Lloyd OBE MC A scarce George V period example by Wilkinson of London. The single edged 37 1/2 inch blade with etched decoration, The obverse depicting crowned GvR Cypher, the reverse with the regimental device and battle honours, the last being Paardeberg. Etched to the forte, the cutlers details of Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall; the blade is numbered 58227. The polished steel guard is mounted with entwined gilt metal letters L.G , with 1 to the centre, surmounted by a crown and bearing gilt metal stud decoration. Shagreen grip with twist wire binding and complete with scarlet and buff leather lining to the guard. Housed in original steel scabbard with gilt metal mounts and loose rings. The blade remains in good clean condition, etching clear. Near VGC Major Robert Lindsey Lloyd was educated at Eton and was commissioned into the 16th Lancers in 1911. He served during the Great War with the Regiment in France landing in August 1914. He was awarded the MC in 1916 and the OBE 1919. Remaining with the Army after the end of the war he exchanged to the 1st Life Guards 1919 and in 1930 held the rank of Major. He also saw service during WW2 as second I/C 152nd Officer Cadet Training Unit. The sword was purchased from Wilkinson on the 12th July 1920 by Captain R Llloyd 1st Life Guards

Royal Horse Guards Victorian Officer state sword by Wilkinson of London A scarce Victorian period example the single edged 38 1/2 inch blade with etched decoration, The obverse depicting crowned reverse entwined VR Cypher, the reverse with the regimental title. Etched to the forte, the cutlers details of Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall; the blade is numbered 22590 (1878). The polished steel guard is mounted with entwined gilt metal letters R.H.G and surmounted by a crown and bearing gilt metal stud decoration. Shagreen grip with twist wire binding and complete with white buff leather lining to the guard. Housed in original steel scabbard with gilt metal mounts and loose rings. Overall GC some minor age wear Possibly carried by Charles William Selwyn who was appointed a Second Lieutenant in November 1878, the year the sword was ordered. He served in Egypt 1882 and became a Conservative MP and died at the age of 34 in 1893.

The folding locking guard with engraved name R.G.LIVEING RN. Complete with scabbard. Small rust spots to the blade, otherwise etching clear and clean. The leather is dry and with a part break. ... Commander Robert George Liveing entered Royal Navy service in January 1919 and was appointed a Sub Lieutenant 1926 with Lieutenant 1929. He served with the Submarine Service and in 1928 was posted to the Submarine L3 on the China Station. He transferred to the Emergency list in 1931 and was recalled for service during WW2. The Royal Navy list of 1968 shows him as the Senior Command Naval Auxiliary Officer Royal Naval Auxiliary Service.

Comprising: Private purchase combat / survival knife. Eight inch fullered blade to the fortes details of William Rodgers I cut my way. Made in Sheffield England. The hilt with a leather washer grip and complete with brown leather scabbard. Accompanied by a selection of original photographs, paperwork etc, appertaining to Lance Corporal Arthur John Kirby. Lance Corporal Arthur John Kirby was born in 1925 and at the early stage of WW2 volunteered as a Messenger Boy with the local Home Guard based in Norwich. A letter included dated December 1943 from his old HG CO congratulating on becoming a Marine. A Christmas menu for HMS Kenya 1945 and the photographs indicate Far East service. After the war he volunteered for TA service with the RAMC and Royal Engineers. PLEASE NOTE Attribution made by the vendor.

Imperial German Seitengewehr 1898 Sawback Bayonet. A good and scarce example, with long slim saw back 20 1/2 inch blade. German cutlers details to the forte of Erfurt and dated 1903 on the back edge. Steel turn up quillon and two part grooved wooded slab grips. Housed in leather and steel mounted scabbard. Bayonet fits the scabbard. GC.

WW1 Imperial German Model 1898/05 Sawback Butcher Bayonet A good clean example, single edged blade widening to the point with rear sawback edge. The forte stamped with details Simson & Co. Suhl. The back edge dated 15. Steel turn up quillon, with wooden ribbed slab grips to the hilt. Housed in its steel scabbard. Overall GC. Scabbard possibly repainted.
