Rare Imperial German 1st Garde-Regiment zu Fus Experimental Trials Model S 98 aA Bayonet, in steel mounted leather scabbard. 1st type wood grip, blade with Erfurt makers mark and stamped on back edge W over 98, 1898 being the first production year. Cross guard with regimental and issue stamps “1.G.R. 5. 136” (1st Garde-Regiment zu Fuss). Slight pitting to chape and front of pommel, otherwise good condition. Blade 52cms, overall 67cms. Initially only issued to the four elite units of the Imperial German army, the 1st Garde-Regiment zu Fus being one of them, See Carter Vol. II, page 79.

Standard pipe back blade with Erfurt mark and stamped on back W over 07. Top of scabbard stamped “9. J. 3. 56” (Lauenburg Jager Batl. No.9). Generally a very good condition example.

Scarce WW1 German Model S-05/16 Ersatz Butcher Bayonet, in steel metal scabbard and steel grip. Blade stamped on back with small Acceptance mark. Frog stud missing and a few dents to scabbard. Some of the original field grey paint finish remains on the hilt. Some slight staining on blade but otherwise good condition. Blade 35 ½ cms, overall 50 ½ cms. See Carter Vol. I, page 43, number 47 for similar example.

Third Reich Erased Rohm Inscription SA Dress Dagger by EP&S, good untouched example with light brown wood grip having enamel SA device and nickel silver eagle. Nickel silver mounts with the lower guard being stamped “Nm” to the reverse. Complete with its original early pattern anodised scabbard with leather hanger attached. Near mint condition double etched blade with motto “Alles fur Deutschland” and the rear with the remains of the Rohm inscription, much of which is still visible. E.P & S Solingen makers mark to the base. The blade measures 22 cms, overall 37 cms.

Rare Third Reich SA 1935 Shooting Prize Dress Dagger by E P & S Solingen, good untouched example of a SA dress dagger with the grip having nickel silver eagle and enamel SA device inserted. Reverse of the lower cross guard is stamped with gau mark letter “B”. Housed in its original anodised scabbard with nickel silver top and lower mounts. The blade has standard motto, “Alles fur Deutschland” to one side and the other side is engraved with a four line presentation dedication in German script, “1. Schiespreis der S.A. ceim Winter hilfswerkschiesen der Kriegerkamenadsch Dabringhausen am 24.11.1935 Wehrsport cuhse 6mm 12-Ringscheibe 5 Schusse : 59 Ringe”. To the side of the inscription is the trademark for E P & S Solingen. Some staining and wear to the blade but generally a good example. Blade measures 21 ½ cms, overall 36 ½ cms.

Third Reich NSKK Dress Dagger by Tigerwerk Lauterjung & Co Solingen, with deep cherry brown wood handle having eagle and enamel SA device set within. Plated top and lower fittings to the grip. Original scabbard with plated mounts and hanging ring. Very good condition blade with much of the original cross graining remaining. Standard motto, “Alles fur Deutschland”, rear of the blade has RZM mark and M7/68 1941 which is for the maker Tigerwerk Lauterjung & Co., Solingen. Some very light staining to the blade and some plating lifting to the grip fittings but otherwise this is a very good example.

Luftwaffe 1st Pattern Dress Dagger by SMF, good example of a nickel silver fittings 1st pattern dagger with blue leather covering to the grip and original copper wire binding. Top pommel disc with gilt mobile swastikas to each side. Cross guard with gilt mobile swastikas and underneath is stamped “195”. Blue leather covered scabbard with nickel silver mounts. Complete with its original aluminium hanging chains with the clip being marked OLC GES GESCH. Very good condition double edged blade with SMF Solingen makers mark and acceptance stamp. Blue leather washer to base of blade. The blade measures 30 ½ cms, overall 48 ½ cms. Good example overall.

WW2 Luftwaffe Officers Dress Sword by Alcoso Solingen, fine example of an early nickel silver officers dress sword with top pommel having brass mobile swastika inlaid to both sides, blue leather covered grip retaining the original wire, cross guard in form of feathers with mobile swastika centres. Housed in its original blue leather covered scabbard with nickel silver mounts. Leather hanger attached to one ring of the scabbard top mount. Near mint condition blade retaining all of the original polish, makers trade mark to the base and fuller to the central section running to half the length of the blade. The exterior fittings retain a dark patina finish. A superb untouched example.

Third Reich Students (N.P.E.A) Dress Dagger, standard students example having wooden grip without any device emblems, nickel silver grip mounts with the lower chape being stamped “P407”. Housed in olive green painted scabbard with bayonet frog fitting to the front. Double edged blade with motto “Mehr sein als schwinen”, reverse of the blade has makers mark of Karl Burgsmuller Charlottenburg 5 Berlin. Some light areas of staining to the blade and repair to the grip. Accompanied by a German leather bayonet frog. We are of the opinion that the scabbard is a later replacement.

Slightly curved plain blade with fuller to back edge and WKC makers mark to the underside of the guard. Blade shows some light staining but generally good condition. Blade measures 80 cms, overall 94 ½ cms.

Borneo tribal headhunter's sword and scabbard, with carved bone hilt with hair inset and Borneo silver collar, the plain blade with scrolling casting towards the tip, the hardwood scabbard with raised carved motif and engraved Borneo silver inset bands, also featuring two hair tassels, blade 19.5" long; together with a carved hardwood talisman of back-to-back figures, 5" high and a processional sword with leather scabbard, the blade engraved GR under crown with some scrolling motif, 31" long (3) - ** Provenance: This sword was a farewell present to Robert E Speddy on his retirement as clerk to the State Cabinet of Sabah, Malaysia (Formerly North Borneo) in 1966 - It was given to him by native Chief Arusap, of the Murut Tribe, who in the past had been head hunters, they would attach the hair of their victims as trophies. See additional images for a copy of Chief Arusup in Murut Dress in Keningau, January 1955 - ** The American author Agnes Newton Keith (American 1901-1982), mentions Chief Arusap in her 1939 published record of her time in a Japanese prison camp in Borneo during World War II. The book "Land Below the Wind" was later made into the 1950 film 'Three Came Home' - The sword is bound with Borneo silver, a craft which Mr Speddy was keen to revive

Queens Bodyguard of Scotland Royal Company of Archers Full Uniform, Headdress and Sword Grouping Contained in the Original Metal Storage Trunk, the grouping consists of the long pattern green cloth tunic with gauntlet cuffs and shoulder wings. Trimmed with black braid and crimson velvet, four bars of black braid across the chest, showing a light crimson velvet. Black braid and crimson velvet also to the collar. Crimson silk shoulder cords with gilt metal button. Fine quality sash with large badge in fine gilt metal to the centre and a lower sash badge in gilt and enamel retaining nearly all the original fire gilt finish; Evening dress tail coat in dark green cloth with green velvet collar. Green silk cloth lining t the interior. Three gilt metal tunic buttons to the front, waist band and tail skirt; Royal Company of Archers cape in green cloth with collar. Bands to the inside to fasten the cape down. Cape lined at the shoulders with green Italian cloth. Gilt metal special pattern cape chains and large gilt metal buttons; Trousers of green cloth with black braid and crimson velvet stripes; 2x variations of the full dress bonnets in green cloth with black braid trim. Crimson tuft to each bonnet. White and green silk cockades with fine gilt metal bonnet badges which retain nearly all of the original fire gilt wash finish. One bonnet with the original eagle feather. One bonnet is stiff type and the other is more like a beret; Black leather belt with sword frog and gilt metal Royal crest plate, the circlet inscribed “Queens Bodyguard for Scotland”; Parade pattern short sword made by Wilkinson sword, ornate gilt metal hilt, acid etched blade with EIIR cipher. Much of the original polish remains to the blade. Housed in the original leather and brass mounted scabbard. Accompanied by other items of accoutrements and housed in the original metal transit trunk with brass name plate engraved “P D GILMOUR ESQ”. A truly fantastic condition set which shows very minimal wear. Please note we are not able to offer in house post and packing on this item due to weight and size.

Reverse of the holster is stamped “G&K 1917 J.A.O”; 2x .455 calibre Colt pistol magazines, one stamped “ELEY” to the bottom; Pair of Anti-Gas Mk II eye shields in card covers; Stag horn handled bowie style knife in a brown 1914 pattern leather style scabbard with decoration in the form of badge and buttons of the Queens Regiment. Tied to the sword grip is officers dress portepee and officers cloth sword slings attached to the scabbard. Slender blade with fuller to the centre and etched with eagle in flight, trophy of arms and foliage. Blade measures 79 cms, overall 99 cms. Generally good condition with much of the gilt finish remaining to the sword fittings.
