[Duke of Wellington] A fine hunting or ceremonial spear head, of hollow-ground lozenge section, having a tang of faceted shouldered baluster form, with threaded terminal, in a white metal mounted red tooled leather scabbard, the latter variously inscribed including "given to Lord Hill by the Duke of Wellington", English / Indian, late 18th / early 19th Century, 26.5 cm. [Rowland Hill, 1st Viscount Hill, (1772 - 1842), British general and one of the Duke of Wellington's chief lieutenants in the Peninsular campaigns of the Napoleonic Wars, Commander of II Corps at the Battle of Waterloo.]
A military dress sword (1845 pattern) marked to the blade " Volunteer rifles. Thomas Fairrie Esquire. With hilt marked to the ricasso Mander and Allender Liverpool. Some of the original hanger are in place, approximately 98 cm total length and 83 cm blade length and 2.6 cm wide at the ricasso, 84 cm scabbard.Condition Report: There are several dents to the scabbard, the largest approximately 8mm diameter, the scabbard appears to have a very slight bend. The blade tip is bent approximately 1 cm from the tip, there is a bend to the body of the blade starting approximately half way up. No apparent looseness to the guard, pommel or grip wires
