His career further promoted him to Senior Superintendent, the additional archive image depicts the vendor as a Junior Officer (top right of picture).Condition Report: Overall solid but used condition, traces of polish throughout the pierced decoration to the knuckle guard, the blade is rather dull with notable tarnishing throughout, scabbard and frog in good order, outer case in ok but used condition.
A 1796 pattern light cavalry trooper's sword, the 32" curved blade engraved 'Gill's Warranted' with wire bound leather grip, steel stirrup knuckle bow and turn down quillon, with double ring steel scabbard, overall length 98.5cm.Condition Report: Leather grips cracked and perished, very minor patches of surface pitting to knuckle guard. Blade has several nicks in cutting edge, blade and scabbard tarnished with a few minor patches of surface pitting, otherwise overall good condition. No jiggle on pommel, scabbard measures 86.5cm. A 19th century Turkish Kilij, the 26.5" curved pala blade with broad spine and 10" double-edged tip, brass cross guard and horn grip, overall length 80cm, lacking scabbard.Condition Report: - Overall good condition, horn grip has patch repairs and further minor losses, scuffs and scrapes etc. knuckle guard has been polished leaving areas of very light surface scratches and tarnishing. Blade has two nicks and patches of tarnishing, otherwise OK.
A 19th century German hunting sword, the 23" curved fullered single-edged blade with 7" double-edged tip, gilt brass cross guard and horn grip, gilt brass mounted leather scabbard with integral horn-handled knife and fork, overall length 74cm.Condition Report: Appears to be missing small section from the chape, gilt finish rubbed. Leather is split and appears to be worn and refinished, blade is tarnished but retains good cutting edge.
A British Army 1903 pattern sword bayonet, marked for the 7th April 1903, various touch marks to the bottom blade edge and reverse, length of blade 30.5cm, overall length 42.5cm, in leather scabbard with leather frog, the scabbard marked 'C39'.Condition Report: - In good condition. The leather frog seems to have a line cut to the front, but it does not feel like it goes all the way through, so it just looks superficial.
