Third Reich Police Bayonet by E&F Horster Solingen, good example with finely detailed top pommel in the form of the eagles head. Two piece stag horn grips with aluminium police eagle emblem to the centre. Cross guard with oakleaves relief to the obverse, the reverse only has partial oakleaves and stamped ‘S.D.IV.386. Housed in its original black leather scabbard with nickel plated fittings. Attached to the scabbard is an original black leather bayonet frog. Attached to the frog is an other ranks pattern leather and cloth portepee (knot). Plain straight blade with fuller to the back edge. Horster makers stamp and to the reverse of the blade stamped with written details of the maker. Some light surface spots to the blade but otherwise a generally good example.

Blade with fuller to the back edge, some light evidence of sharpening to the edge but still generally good. Blade stamped ‘SOLINGEN’.

Blade is etched to the reverse with German helmet and army eagle with centre having in gothic script, ‘Fur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit’. Puma Solingen makers trade mark to the base of the blade. Some staining and wear to the blade, exterior fittings worn and scabbard rusted.

Housed in its original steel scabbard with 1940 dated black leather bayonet frog with strap attachment. Blade with fuller to the edge and numbered ‘152 i’ same as the scabbard. Blade by ‘RICH.A.HERDER’. Generally good example.

Housed in the original blued steel scabbard with 1941 dated leather bayonet frog attached. Near mint condition blued blade with fuller to the back edge. E.u.F Horster makers details and numbered 4930, the same as the top of the scabbard. Overall a very good example of a combat bayonet with just some light surface pitting to the reverse of the grip.

Complete with the original scabbard which is stamped ‘2985m’ and the blade is stamped ‘9808’ reverse side ‘DURKOPP’. Fuller to the back edge of the blade. Much blueing remains to the blade.

Blade with light oxidation, a couple of small nicks to blade edge, some losses to leather on scabbard, with cracks and scuffs, stitching failing in lower section.

Leather end piece of scabbard is detachable. Second blade is extensively oxidised as is guard. Scabbard is tired and repaired to mid section with sellotape, lacking endpiece.

LINDSAY.' and numbered 7957, folding brass hilt with sword and baton cypher, wire bound fish skin grip, metal scabbard, length 100.5cm. Condition - hilt slightly bent, oxidisation to metal, losses to grip (wood and skin), dings to scabbard, general wear throughout, the blade doesn't appear to have been re-sharpened, there are no markings to the scabbard.
