A rare WWI French model 1916 trench knife "Poignard de tranchee m/e 1916" as used by the tank and infantry regiments as the last regulation French model of WWI. The knife was nicknamed by the French as "Avenger of 1870" in reference to the loss against Prussia 1870-71. This model is early as it has no ferule ring. Maker S.G.C.O. with scabbard
A reproduction Eastern sword in metal scabbard bearing floral and geometric decoration CONDITION REPORTS Overall with wear and scuffs, rusting and denting, and quite a lot of solder visible to joins, blade has a rounded end and is quite flexible. Blade width approx 3.25cm. Grip appears to be fairly firm/sturdily attached.
