The form of the hilt and the plain leather scabbards of this group are characteristic of Algerian manufacture.

The single edged 36 1/2 inch blade with etched decoration, The obverse depicting crowned EVIIR Cypher, the reverse with the regimental device and battle honours, the last being Egypt 1882. Etched to the forte, the retailers details of Hawkes & Co. the blade is numbered 6298. The polished steel guard is mounted with entwined gilt metal letters L.G , with 2 to the centre, surmounted by a crown and bearing gilt metal stud decoration. Shagreen grip with twist wire binding and complete with original brown leather lining to the guard. Housed in original steel scabbard with gilt metal mounts, chape and loose rings. The blade remains in good clean condition, etching clear. GC

A scarce example with a 1/2 inch wide 31 inch blade, with etched decoration of a crowned VR cypher, the reverse with the title 3rd Bttn Rifle Brigade and Battle Honours of the Regiment the last being Lucknow. Also an armourial crest and initials E.H.C. The forte with the cutlers details of Wilkinson and the blade is numbered 19946 (1875). German Third Reich SS 1933 model dagger rare maker Bertram Reinhard, Solingen A good scarce example, the blade etched Meine Ehre Heist Treue (My Honour is Loyalty), the reverse with makers circular chickens logo. Black wooden grip inlaid with silvered eagle and enamelled circular SS device. Housed in original anodised, nickel mounted scabbard with single loose suspension ring. Minor pitting to blade, small surface chip to grip just above crossguard. GC Belived to be a "parts" dagger.

Solingen A good example with twist wire bound blue leather grip, aluminium mounts with gilt mobile swastika to centre of pommel and down swept crossguard on both sides. Double edged polished blade etched with oval sword and wreath oval logo and stamped with Luftamt issue stamp. Housed in its dark blue leather covered scabbard with aluminium mounts and complete with hanging chains and spring clip by Assmann stamped DRGM. Wear to scabbard leather. GC Introduced in 1935.

Housed in its leather scabbard with brass gilt mounts and frog stud; retaining leather double strapped frog/carrier. Slight age wear, to leather blade near VGC.

The reverse of the hilt with clear Crown over M 1890 II W.D. 88 stamp, this is in part repeated to the top mount of the scabbard. The straight 43 cm blade etched with sailing ship trophies of war and crowned fouled anchor. Housed in its leather scabbard with brass gilt mounts and frog stud, the chape gilt is worn to the base steel. Blade near VGC.

Brown wooden grip inlaid with silvered eagle and swastika and enamelled circular SA device; crossguard stamped with WF (Westtfalen district). Housed in original scabbard with nickel mounts, the top mount with single suspension ring retaining brown leather hanging strap. The overall condition is good, very tip to blade missing, scabbard with pitting and surface cleaning scratch marks. SA (Sturmabteilung) “Brown Shirts” dagger introduced in 1933.

WW1 1908 Pattern Cavalry Troopers Sword. A good example of the pattern which has been nickel plated for parade use. The straight blade with issue and inspection stamps indicating 1915. These are repeated to the steel scabbard. Overall good bright condition, some minor age wear and staining.

The reverse with a crowned fouled anchor and title Royal Navy. The forte with the cutlers details of Fenton Brothers of Sheffield. The hilt of the regulation pattern with solid guard, shageen grip and a lion head pommel. Housed in brass mounted black leather scabbard. Overall GC etching to the blade clear. Folding guard locking button to the top mount of the scabbard absent.

WW1 9th Bn Royal West Kent Regiment Attributed Officer Sword. This example was carried by Lieutenant Horace Theodore Bond who was commissioned into the Royal West Kent Regiment attached to the Machine Gun Corps. The blade with etched decoration of a Crowned GVR cypher which is repeated to the guard of the hilt. The blade also with etched panel H.THEO BOND 9TH ROYAL WEST KENT. Housed in polished brown leather field service scabbard. Overall GC clean Lieutenant Horace Theodore Bond is confirmed as serving overseas being awarded the BWM & VM.

Blade length 33 inches The scabbard with faint stamps CMR which may indicate Cape Mounted Rifles.

19th Century Gladius Short Sword with Etched Decoration to the Blade An unusual example with a 21 inch double edged spearpoint blade with double fuller. The blade with half length etched decoration depicting stand of arms and floral decoration. To the forte, a cutlers mark of a C within a circle. The solid brass grip with ring turned grip. Housed in black leather and brass mounted scabbard. Sword in good clean condition, etching clear. Scabbard with repairs.
