A Lee Metford bayonet and Scabbard, length of blade 57.5cm.Condition Report: The blade is very mottled and there are some scratches. Thereis a mark at the top of the blade - please see the image that has been added.When the bayonet was returned to the scabbard the tip of the bayonet was showing through. Overall the wear is consumerate with age to the scabbard and there are some dents.The handle shows wear consumerate with use,
WW2 British Home Guard Auxiliaries Fighting Knife, interesting privately purchased fighting knife with black bakelite grip, plain oval cross guard and polished unmarked double edged blade. The dagger is housed in the original riveted leather scabbard with belt loop and securing strap. The blade measures 11cms, overall 25cms. These types of combat knives were often carried by the special auxiliary combat units associated with the Home Guard. After the evacuation of Dunkirk in 1940, the threat of invasion by the German forces was a real possibility. Churchill ordered special units to be formed that would fight gorilla and commando tactics against the invading forces. They were issued with many combat weapons for hand to hand combat like these combat knives.

One holds the following lettering: Trinity Encampment, Manchester N. H. 1857, and a Passion Cross image. Manufactured by Ames Manufacturing Company, Chicopee, Massachusetts. Goes with a leather scabbard, while the other has a brass scabbard with rings. Both have wood handles with brass knight head pommels, and guards feature images of eagles with stars to the edges.
