A French M1822 light cavalry trooper's sword, curved, fullered blade 36", with narrow back fuller to centre section and traces of inscription on backstrap, regulation brass hilt, the guard with reinforced edges, 2 sidebars, cap shaped pommel, stamps to knucklebow, wirebound leather grip (loose), in its steel scabbard with single ring. GC (medium to heavy rust patches to scabbard overall)

A Geo V 1821 pattern officer's sword of The R Artillery, straight SE fullered blade 34", by Batson London, etched with crowned R Arms, GVR cypher, winged lightning with Royal Artillery and cannon within scrolled, floral and frosted panels, regulation steel 3 bar hilt, wirebound fishskin grip, diced backstrap, in its leather covered scabbard (AF) with frog. Sword GC (some surface rust to hilt)

A scarce 1831 pattern General Officer's sword for active service, plain curved fullered blade 31½" (rusted overall), mameluke hilt with ornamental gilt brass crossguard, unusual silver plated grips, the gilt brass strap engraved Maj Genl. F Campbell, in leather covered FS scabbard (AF). QGC, the hilt better. Lots 746 - 747 belonged to General Sir Frederick Campbell, KCB, DSO, DL (1860-1943) who served in India, Tibet and WWI; details of career are included with each lot.
