Russell Esqr, First Rifle Lancaster', and with metal scabbard, length of blade 82cm. CONDITION REPORT: PLEASE NOTE: we are unable to post this lot using our own in-house packing and postal service. Please arrange your own packing/courier service. Tarnishing to the metalware as expected, the leather washer is replaced, some discolouration to the shagreen and rubbing around the edges. The engraved detail is slightly obscured and rubbed but still readable and the scabbard has a painted finish with a few small dents.

Some minor rubbing and losses to the shagreen at the edges, a rough section to the upper portion of shagreen where it meets the pommel. Some rusting and general surface wear to the metalwork, pitted blade with some rusting throughout. The scabbard has a lacquered or painted finish and has an associated leather belt loop attachment.

Tarnishing to the metalwork, surface wear throughout. Wirework loose to the shagreen grip and missing in parts. Some wear to the raised parts of the shagreen grip, A couple of small edge dents to the knuckle guard, some light pitting to the blade, slightly obscuring with rust at the lower section. The scabbard is significantly pitted and rusted.

Heavy wear to the metalwork including some surface pitting and rust. Discolouration to the shagreen noticeably to the raised parts and this is very worn in areas. Heavy pitting noticeably to the side of the blade that is inscribed 'Royal Artillery' obscuring the decoration. Further pitting throughout. An associated frog is present to the scabbard which itself has significant surface wear and the end of the scabbard is a modern home-made repair.

CONDITION REPORT: Patina but no pitting, replacement washer, no movement, crack at base of hand guard, scabbard quite bent, blade reasonably straight. Heavy tarnishing and discolouration to the crude guard, general surface scratches to the wooden grip. Some pitting to the blade and the tip of the blade is very slightly misshapen. Leather scabbard intact with frog, although the end section where it meets the guard is replaced, quote heavy wear to the leather throughout.

A circa 1900 Chinese dadao, with wrought iron loop pommel, string work long grip and slightly curved blade housed in a leather and vellum scabbard, length of blade 54.5cm. The wrought iron loop is very crude and part of the string work is lacking around the grip where it meets this loop. General wear throughout. Some pitting to the blade commensurate with age and with a very small chip to the blade at the end. General surface wear to the scabbard. Total length approx 87cm, approx 5mm thick at forte, approx 4mm thick towards middle of blade, and weighs approx 850g.

Lot 733

A Victorian Rifles 1827 pattern officer's sword, the blade with VR cypher and 'By Appointment' below Prince of Wales feathers, the pierced guard with bugle crest, shagreen and wire-work grip, length of blade approx. 81.5cm, in metal scabbard. Lot 737

An early 19th century Mameluke, with shaped ivory grip, crossguard, curved blade and metal scabbard, length of blade 75.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: PLEASE NOTE: we are unable to post this lot using our own in-house packing and postal service. Please arrange your own packing/courier service. There are crude repairs to the ivory, one around the pommel area, a small one around the ring and a larger section where it meets the cross guard. There are also cracks and splits to the ivory throughout. Pitting to the metal guard, light pitting to the blade and further pitting and small dents to the scabbard.

Lot 740

An early 19th century machete, with ribbed moulded brass handle and crossguard stamped '12.A.F.2.62', and with shaped blade stamped with a crown to one side, with a leather scabbard with matching numbers to the metal end, length of blade 47.5cm. Normal surface pitting and wear, the two metal pins are white metal and may have been replaced. A few knocks and bruises throughout. Pitting to the blade with a few small nicks. Surface wear to the leather with a split down the spine approx 5cm. Further scratches to the leather and dents to the metal mounts.

Lot 741

A 19th century naval officer's dress sword, with wirework shagreen grip, lion mask pommel, hinged guard and engraved blade inscribed 'Rob. Mole & Sons, Birmingham', with leather metal mounted scabbard, stamped to the blade back 'M2277', length of blade 78cm. CONDITION REPORT: PLEASE NOTE: we are unable to post this lot using our own in-house packing and postal service. Please arrange your own packing/courier service. Slight discolouration in some parts to the shagreen grip with a 2mm x 2mm section missing towards the pommel and a few small tiny sections missing along the hilt. General surface wear to the metal, pitting to the blade in parts. The leather work has surface scratches to the leather scabbard, small splits in part and dents to the metal mounts.

Lot 742

A group of swords and blades including a Spanish cross-hilted example with engraved Toledo blade and woven grip, two partial swords, a small triangular sectioned sword blade with traces of engraved detail, a further small triangular sectioned sword blade, two sabre blades, a distressed and damaged blade and a loose scabbard (10). Lot 751

A large late 19th century naval cutlass bayonet, with checkered grip, bowl guard and slightly curved blade in leather scabbard, length of blade 67cm. Heaving pitting the the metal sections, a rough finish to the edges of the grip, heavy pitting to the blade and numerous chips to the blade edge. Some creases to the leather scabbard but scabbard ok.

Lot 753

An 1879 pattern saw back bayonet with checkered grip, simple guard serrated half backed blade and leather scabbard, the blade with broad arrows mark and stamped 'WD', with various further numbers stamped to the opposing side, length of blade 65cm. Pitting and surface wear to the metal, some rubbing to the checkering to the raised parts as expected. Some pitting and a sticky residue to the blade, some surface wear to the scabbard with rough sections.

Lot 754

A late 19th century brass gripped bayonet with push button action and leather scabbard and a further brass bayonet, stamped M48 to the langet (2). Bayonet has much reduced press stud and spring mechanism to side of hilt, not much action to spring at all and will require some attention, no locking catch apparent but please study images.

Lot 755

A late 19th century brass handled bayonet with blade stamped 'Alex Coppel Solingen', and with various marks to the hilt and scabbard, a further bayonet with Solingen blade in leather scabbard, a third Middle Eastern bayonet in scabbard and a further bayonet without scabbard (4).
