A 120 BORE FRENCH DUMONTHIER PATENT COMBINED D.B. PERCUSSION PISTOL AND DAGGER, CIRCA 1850 with tapering barrels fitted with a fullered blade between, a pair of knurled hammers also forming the left-hand side of the cross-guard, and fitted with a pair of spirally fluted horn grip-scales, in its original steel-mounted leather-covered wooden scabbard (surface rust throughout, the action defective, chape missing) 33cm; 13in See H-W. Lewerken 1989, pp. 232-3 nos. 57 and 58.
A British 1796 Pattern Infantry Officer's sword, spadroon type blade 30 1/2 in. with engraved decoration and slight traces of blueing, regulation brass hilt with shell guards, urn pommel and knucklebow, silver wire bound grip, gilt brass mounted black leather scabbard, locket marked to the inside in cursive script 'S Brunn. Sword Cutler to HRH the Prince of Wales, 55 Charing Cross London'.
An 18th Century French presentation smallsword, narrow blade 27 in., chased and gilt for its entire length with foliate and geometric designs, marked near the hilt with 'Ne Me Remette Point Sans Honneur' and 'Ne Me Lire Pas sans Raison' in cursive script; gilt metal hilt embellished all over with figures, masks and beasts; vellum covered scabbard with gilt metal mounts.
An English Rapier, first half 17th Century, blade 33 1/2 in. with three short fullers to the forte with gilt and decorative piercing, steel hilt with shallow dish guard, large round pommel, bifurcated quillons with inward turned ends to ball terminals, D shaped square section knucklebow interrupted by a single bead, wire bound grip, hilt with allover chiseled decoration, leather scabbard with steel chape, leather locket with brass suspension clip.
An 18th Century Smallsword, hollow triangular section blade 33 1/2 in. and engraved with scrolls and martial motifs to the forte, gilt steel hilt embellished allover with flowers and scrolls in relief, with gilt to the intervening flat areas, double shell guard, round pommel, knucklebow and twin finger rings, the grip bound with silver wire alternating with bands of steel finished with dots of gilt, snakeskin covered scabbard with steel mounts.
AN 1822 PATTERN LIGHT CAVALRY SWORD by Evers and Anderson York, the fullered blade frost etched with a crown and cipher, scrolling metal hilt and stepped oval pommel, rayskin wire bound grip in steel scabbard with sword knot, blade 90cms. The sword was once the property of Lieutenant John Hudson, son of the railway Baron George Hudson. John Hudson was killed on 14th December 1857 at Gungeree, India during the Indian mutiny. Sold with various Hudson family books and documents.
A Victorian plated officer's sword by Thurkle, Soho London with VR cypher to the pierced guard and etched foliate decoration to the 83cm blade (some pitting and loss to plating) with scabbard; A George V officer's sword of similar design (makers mark unclear, possibly Guthrie); and an ERII officer's sword by Wilkinson with leather covered scabbard (some light rust to blade) (3)
