This is hidden by the red felt washer. The end of the tang and pommel show signs of work or repolishing and it is possible that the blade is a replacement. The scabbard, guard and grip all have overall pitting and signs of being polished up. The wire of the fish skin is slightly loose in places but not detached. There are small holes in the fishskin from wear.
