A 19th century Indo-Persian Shamshir sword with flat single edged curved blade inlaid with gold. The blade engraved and decorated with three cartouches to each side (partial remnants of inlaid gold) the chased finely engraved hilt has remnants of gilding, in its black lacquered wooden scabbard with gilt mounts also with fine engraving to the mounts. Grip in white metal disks, alternated with copper wire bindings. With a big, brass pommel, partially covered with white metal plates, engraved with floral motifs. Heavy, brass scabbard, with remains of white metal-inlaid spirals. length 77 cm.
dating: 19th Century provenance: Sudan, Long, straight, double-edged blade, of flat section, with central fuller through all the length and remains of small engravings at the base. Iron, cruciform quillon, with short langets. Cylindrical grip, covered with silver foil, carved with scales. Thick, cylindrical, silver pommel, with frames at the border and floral engravings on the back, provided with a nut-shaped button. Grip with rope and tassels. Leather scabbard of typical palmed shape, adorned with imprints and with silver chape and cap. Two lugs complete with a belt. length 106 cm.

dating: 1791 provenance: France-Poland, Curved, single-and false-edged blade with large, central fuller and thin rear groove, royal coat-of-arms on one side among the inscription 'Konstytucya dzien Maya 1791' (date of Constitution of Poland that was the first one in Europe to adopt the modern constitution and second one after the United States). Engraved with a lancer on the other side, with typical tschapka on inscription 'Vivat Wolnosc Polska'. Iron hilt with langets and four loop-guards, smooth and long Polish cap. Wooden grip, covered with fish skin and metallic wire binding. Iron scabbard with two suspension rings on bands. length 99 cm.
dating: Third quarter of the 19th Century provenance: Italy, Curved, single-and false-edged blade, ribbed at the foible, with fuller, remains of a stamp at the base on one side and marking 'BLECKMANN SOLINGEN' on the other. Together with a knife (23 cm) with single-edged blade complete with scabbard. Signs of long use, but still pliable. Confederate? height holster 21 cm.
dating: Second half of the 19th Century provenance: USA, Composite set with belt (86 x 2.5 cm). Holster for a revolver of big dimensions. Cap box with brass Texas Lone Star (5 cm). Together with a knife (42.5 cm) with single-and false-edged blade with pitting, iron quillon and deer horn grip; the relative scabbard with belt frog from a bayonet or short sword. Leather with signs of use, but still pliable. See an example of Lone Star pictured on page 419 of the volume “TEXAS CIVIL WAR ARTIFACTS” by R. M. Ahlstrom.
