Wilhelm Rathke', blade spine with further etching 'J. Robrecht, Hoflieferant, Berlin', gilt wire-bound ivory grip, lion's head pommel with glass-inset eyes, folding guard with chain and anchor decoration, folding thumbguard with hole for scabbard pin and also engraved 'Rathke', in leather and gilt metal mounted scabbard with two suspension loops.

A SUPERB 20TH CENTURY DOUBLE FULLERED NICKEL PLATED STEEL SCOTTISH BASKET HILT SWORD, complete with its nickel-plated steel scabbard and basket liner with tassel to pommel. Please note carefully the exclusion of liability for the condition of lots contained in the Conditions of Sale.In excellent condition throughout, the nickel plating very good and the blade, although not over emblazoned with decoration is very bright with all features legible. The shagreen grip in very good order.
Third Reich SA Dress Dagger by F Herder Solingen, untouched example of a Third Reich SA dress dagger with dark brown grip retaining the original eagle and SA enamel device. Nickel silver top mount and cross guard with gau / district mark “Nrhn”. Housed in its anodised scabbard with nickel silver mounts and single hanging ring. One screw missing from the lower chape. Blade with standard “Alles fur Deutschland” motto and reverse side with F Herder A.S. Solingen. Some surface staining to the blade but would probably clean up. Some light chips to the grip and general wear etc, but overall a good untouched example by a not that common maker. Blade 22cms, overall 37 ¼ cms.
