16.5cm flattened diamond section blade etched to one side with a panel containing NEVER DRAW ME WITHOUT REASON NOR SHEATH ME WITHOUT HONOUR flanked by scrolling foliage and stamped MANSON SHEFFIELD at the forte, white metal cutlery type handle, contained in its white metal mounted gilt tooled brown leather scabbard.
86cm bright and sharp blade by Wilkinson, serial no. 53420 for 1914-17, etched with scrolling foliage, regimental title, GVR cypher and crowned Royal Arms, regulation three-bar steel hilt, wire bound fishskin grip, contained in its field service scabbard. The attribution to Captain Gladwell-Moore is based on the vendor's purchase of this sword from the estate auction of Sir Patrick Moore.

83.5cm curved fullered blade etched with scrolling foliage, crowned VR cypher, strung bugle horn, VICTORIA RIFLES, owner's crest, initials AMB and motto FLOREAT MAJESTAS, regulation steel gothic hilt incorporating a crowned strung bugle horn, wire bound fishskin grip, contained in its engraved steel mounted leather scabbard, complete with knot.
76cm sharply curved blade, regulation steel stirrup hilt, wire bound leather covered wooden grip, contained in its steel scabbard, dent, complete with rare buff leather hangers and worn bullion knot. Partial old label accompanying this lot references Thomas Scott, who served as a First Lieutenant in Major Rogers' Brigade at Waterloo. The Waterloo Roll Call details that Scott had a horse killed under him at Quatre Bras and this is possibly when the grapeshot? dent occurred to the scabbard. Scott died as a Brevet Major at Fordingbridge near Canterbury on the 28th of December 1834.

One scabbard ring lacking.
90cm clean slightly curved fullered blade stamped ROBT MOLE & SONS BIRMINGHAM at the forte, further stamped MOLE on the back edge, regulation steel bowl guard pierced with a Maltese cross and two knot slits to the back edge, incised 77 over 4H over 315, two-piece riveted chequered leather grips, contained in its steel scabbard incised 3H over E21. Retains some original blackened finish to the inside of the hilt.
81cm fullered blade decorated with scrolling foliage, stands of arms, flowers of the Union, crowned GR cypher and crowned Royal arms, all highlighted in gilt on a rubbed blued ground, regulation gilt hilt with D-shaped knuckle guard and urn-shaped pommel, copper wire bound grip, contained in its copper gilt mounted black leather scabbard complete with red and bullion knot.

Scabbard leather worn.
54.5cm sharply curved wootz damascus blade decorated with silver damascene at the forte and along the base of the spine, characteristic hilt, the crossguard with spatulate terminals, scroll knuckle guard terminating with the head of a Yali, dished disc pommel with domed foliate terminal, contained in its leather wrapped wooden scabbard.
82cm blade by Wilkinson, serial no. 65917 for 1936, etched with scrolling foliage, GVIR cypher, regimental badge and battle honours of the Coldstream Guards and the owner's initials J.H.B, regulation pierced steel hilt brass decoration and the motif of the Life Guards, wire bound fishskin grip, contained in its field service scabbard. The initials are those of Major John Hood Bowman, captured by the Japanese in February 1942 and liberated in September 1945. Bowman did not serve in the Life Guards, perhaps rehilted by a relative (?).
74cm sharply curved flat blade decorated with scrolling foliage, stand of arms, flowers of the Union, crowned GR cypher and crowned Royal arms, all highlighted in gilt with traces of a blued ground, regulation pierced gilt hilt incorporating a crowned GR cypher, lion's head pommel, wire bound fishskin grip, contained in its scarce steel scabbard.
88cm blade by stamped with a crown over 12, regulation steel disc hilt with langet modification, ribbed leather covered grip, the knuckle guard incised 2=R=NB=DS over D/24 over A/34 the latter crossed out, contained in its steel scabbard stamped WOOLLEY and incised 2=R=NB=DS over D/24. The Royal North British Dragoons or Scots Greys famously formed part of the Union Brigade under Major-General Ponsonby at the Battle of Waterloo and after numerous charges, one against a column of the French 45th Regiment, during which Sergeant Charles Ewart captured their Eagle Standard, they ended the day with 104 dead and 97 Wounded out of 416 participants in the battle.

74cm blade etched with trophies of arms and foliage against a blued ground and retaining some gilt decoration, brass hilt with pommel with chiselled decoration, plain knuckle guard, the langets with anchors, flags and the head of Minerva, diagonally fluted ebony grip, contained in its leather covered wooden scabbard with brass mounts, the locket embossed with a mermaid, foliage and a shell, twin suspension hooks, the chape with shell terminal. An identical sword is in the Musee National de la Marine in Paris, MNM 33AR 162. See Aries, Armes Blanches Militaires Francaises, volume XIII.
33cm straight pamor blade, the wooden hilt carved with two small panels of scrolling foliage, contained in its single-piece polished wooden scabbard, together with a 19th century or earlier barong with 42.75 heavy blade and carved wooden hilt with large tapering white metal collar and a 19th Century white metal mounted sheath for a small Sulawesi Kris. 30cm fullered blade with faceted back edge, decorated with scrolling foliage and thistles, characteristic carved basket weave wooden hilt with thistle decorated plated brass mounts, the grip set with brass studs, contained in its plated brass mounted leather wrapped wooden scabbard decorated with St Andrew and a saltire and an elephant, complete with companion knife and fork. Bright blade with small patches of staining.

97cm fullered AN IV Dragoon blade stamped with a fasces and AR (Atilier Republican) to the right side, regulation four-bar brass hilt stamped VERSAILLES, wire bound leather grip, contained in its very rare original heavy scabbard. See Aries No. 4 1967 No.s 4,11 &12. It is almost certain that this is one of the swords produced at the Versailles factory during the emergency production run during the 100 day return of Napoleon from Elba and just prior to Waterloo.
