Gothic pierced brass guard with V.R Cypher and scarce original inner leather guard. Nicely etched blade (tip kinked). In its brass mounted leather scabbard (leather a/f at chape. Wirebound fishskin grip (g.c). This is a good example of this Victorian sword.

A good piece for restoration. Old repair to handle noted.

Ricasso marked with oval Crown over reversed 'N' inspection mark and makers name 'TALABOT PARIS'. In its brass mounted leather scabbard with rack number '929'. Clean blade, excellent scabbard, good ribbed brass grips. Used by the Infantry, Foreign Legion from Louis Philippe to the Second Empire. It is rare to find these swords with a scabbard.
