A British 1796 Heavy Cavalry Trooper's Sword by Daw, Birmingham, the 89cm single edge fullered steel blade stamped with a crown over 11, the back edge stamped DAW, BIRM, and B in two places, the circular steel guard pierced with eight holes, with lozenge shape strengthening plate, two langets, ribbed black leather grip, the steel two ring scabbard faintly engraved C/37/D7G Some rust pitting and black patching to the metalwork of the sword and scabbard. The blade edge has been groundt at the ricasso and has two large nicks 11cm and 22cm from the tip, it has a slight curve when viewed from the hilt. The scabbard has three small dents.
