Two piece white celluloid grip, the cross guard bearing a TeNo device, the eagle head shaped pommel ornamented with a cogwheel “eye”; housed in its nickel mounted black repainted painted regulation scabbard, the throat of which bears issue number 7315. Some service wear and pitting. Throat screws absent. Scabbard complete with pitted suspension clip with replaced leather loop. TENO (Technische Nothilfe) was the Technical Emergency Corps

The solid brass guard with cross guard, terminating with animal head quillons and a central panel with a lion mask. Plain grip with screeching cockerel head pommel. Scabbard absent small amount of age wear.
Victorian Grenadier Guards Officer’s Sword by Wilkinson of London. A good regulation example by Henry Wilkinson (Serial No 29837, indicating manufacture in 1889), carried by Captain Gerard Lysley Derriman who served in the Boer War . Fine slightly-curved blade etched with regimental grenade and imperial crown above VR cypher reversed and intertwined. On one side, scrolls bearing eight battle-honours from Blenheim to Barrosa, the other side with honours from Peninsula to Egypt 1882 and owner’s initials ‘GLD’. The hilt with plated Gothic guard incorporating the grenade, and wire-bound shagreen grip. In its good plated scabbard. Etching to blade remains clear and bright, somewhat defective, particularly on inside of guard, otherwise GC. Gerard Lysley Derriman was educated at Eton and commissioned into the Grenadier Guards in November 1889. In the Boer War he was on the staff of the Imperial Yeomanry and then served in the S.A. Constabulary until 1904. Returning to the Grenadiers he was posted to France and whilst a Staff Captain met his death on 7th Aug. 1915 and was buried at le Trepart Military Cemetery.

German Third Reich Government Official’s dagger circa 1939-42. A fine rare example with simulated mother of pearl grip and silver plated mounts. Eagle’s head ornamented pommel, crossguard and langet bearing an eagle and swastika, the blade unusually with no maker. Housed in its finely pebbled plated scabbard, the oakleaf bands retaining both loose suspension rings. Complete with knot or portepee. (Official Government knots were of Army pattern but smaller.) Generally VGC. Introduced in March 1939; production ceased in mid 1942.
6th Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers) 1887 Regimental Pattern Sword. A rare attributed example carried by Lieutenant William Percy Burnell Ward who was commissioned into the Regiment in 1887. The straight single edged blade with etched decoration of a crowned VR cypher, regimental device with title and Battle Honours the last being Afghanistan 1879-80. The blade also with the original owners entwined initials. The hilt with special pattern guard incorporating the Regimental device. The shagreen grip retains twist wire binding. Housed in steel scabbard. The blade remains in clean condition extra metal dulled.

The leather covered ribbed grip with heavy brass pommel. Housed in steel scabbard with two loose rings. Clean condition.
Edwardian Royal Army Medical Corps Attributed Officer’s Sword. A rare Edwardian levée weight example by E.J. Jones, King St., St. James’s London. Narrow dumbbell blade deeply etched with foliate decoration, EVIIR cypher, Corps badge and motto ‘In Arduis Fidelis’, and owner’s initials M.F.F. Hilt with gilt-brass Gothic guard with royal cypher in the cartouche and wire-bound shagreen grip. Housed in its steel scabbard. Some pitting to blade, one grip-wire loose, some discolouration to scabbard. Attributed to Major Mathias Frederick Foulds, Lieut. Apr. 1901, at the outbreak of the Great War he held the rank of Major and was serving at St. Helena.
18th Century Smallsword, with Swivel Polished Steel Bar Guard. A good quality example, the narrow straight double edged 31 inch blade with engraved floral decoration. The hilt with a polished steel ribbon decorated guard with fixed single D shape knucklebow and swivel steel ornate ribbon decorated bar guard. The forte with the cutler’s details of Wilkinson and the blade is numbered 89415 (1966) The hilt is fitted with full basket, this with buff leather and scarlet cloth lining and also crimson tassels. Housed in correct pattern black leather scabbard with silver plated top mount and chape. Near Parade Condition. Possibly carried by an Officer of 225 Medical Regiment, this being Scotland's oldest surviving medical unit with history that goes back to 1739. Their full dress being as a kilted Highland Regiment.

This appears to have metal simulated shagreen grip of the Wilkinson patent hilt style. Housed in steel scabbard. The blade remains in very clean condition, scabbard and hilt with surface rusting and pitting. The forte with details of Reeves Greaves & Co Makers to the board of Ordnance and the Hon East India Company.

WW1 Royal Field Artillery Attributed Officer’s Sword. This sword is attributed to Lieutenant Guy Homfray Pinsent MC. The sword is the regimental pattern with a plain blade. The forte is engraved “Lieut Guy H Pinsent MC RFA 1914-1919” The hilt with open three bar guard. Complete with leather field service scabbard. The sword is now with heavy age and storage wear. Captain Guy Homfray Pinsent MC served with the RFA during the Great War and remained with the Reserve of Officer’s until 1939 when he reached the age limit for service. At that time he was serving with the Loyal Regiment.
German Third Reich Forestry Service sidearm / cutlass. A good scarce senior forester’s example, the 33 cm blade with etched panel either side depicting hunting scenes. Simulated ivory grips ornamented each side with three gilt acorns, gilt knucklebow joining the pommel in a deer’s hoof design; gilt clamshell guard. Housed in original dark brown leather scabbard with gilt mounts and acorn frog stud; complete with leather frog dated 1937, retaining aluminium wire and green thread knot. One acorn on reverse of grip a replacement, the others with verdigris.

Scottish. 21st Foot special Regimental pattern Officer’s sword by Wilkinson Sword London A rare Victorian example with a slightly curved single edged blade, with etched decoration of a Regimental device flaming grenade with “21” to the ball, also Battle Honours of the Regiment the last being for the Crimea. The back of the blade with a Wilkinson number indicating a date of 1878. The blade also with an Armourial crest. The hilt is of special Regimental pattern. The open guard incorporates a Regimental device of a flaming grenade with 21 to the ball, this is supported by a pair of thistles and encircled by the Regimental title “Royal Scot Fusiliers’ and the Regimental motto. The shagreen to the grip is absent, but twist wire binding remains The back strap of gilt metal embossed with thistle design. Housed in original steel scabbard with two loose rings. The blade remains in clean bright condition, overall exterior is good. The crest to the blade appears to be that of the Chichester family. The sword is therefore attributed to Major Spencer Frederick Chichester who was appointed a Lieutenant in the 21st Foot 1876 and Captain in 1885. He served with the Regiment during the Zulu War and was also present during the 1st Boer War at Pretoria. In 1886 he was appointed Adjutant of the Wigtown Militia. He returned to South Africa and served during the Boer War. Retiring from the Army he was appointed a JP for Hampshire and died in 1931. The Regiment adopted the Highland pattern broadsword in 1881.
