Imperial German M98/05 “Butcher Bayonet”, with two piece wood slab grips. Acceptance stamp to the top. Housed in the original steel scabbard. Swollen blade with fuller to the back edge. Acceptance stamp and date “17” (1917). Blade shows some staining and wear, scabbard with surface rust. Accompanied by a cut down Imperial German 1871 pattern bayonet which has been used as a trench knife, missing its scabbard. Imperial markings to the edge of the blade. (2 items)
WW2 German Third Reich Artillery / Enlisted Mans Dress Sword, being a steel dove hilt pattern example with the grip retaining the original wire binding. Plain langet and cross guard with knuckle guard. Attached to the hilt is the original dress knot / portopee. Housed in its original scabbard with single hanging ring. Plain slightly curved blade with partial fuller to the back edge. Blade has makers trade mark of Rich A Herder Solingen. Blade measures 86cms, overall 106 ½ cms.
Scarce German Army Officers F W Holler Model 21 Sword, good example of the special pattern sword produced by F W Holler known as the Model 21. Gilt brass down winged political style eagle and swastika with down turned lion head quillon. Knuckle guard with fine oak leaves and acorns relief leading into stylised lion / puma head with jewelled eyes. The back strap with fine relief of oak leaves and acorns. Re-finished grip. Plain single edged slightly curved blade partial fuller to the back edge. Housed in the original black painted scabbard. Blade shows staining and wear. Blade measures 83cms, overall 101cms.
WW2 Axis Forces Bulgarian Army Officers Dress Dagger, fine example complete with its original orange celluloid grip retaining the wire binding, Bulgarian crown top pommel, cross guard with lion head finials and one side the coat of arms with rampant lion and the other side Bulgarian order. Housed in its original scabbard with hanging rings. Double edged blade with etched decoration to both sides. The blade measures 24cms, overall 39cms.
Japanese WW2 Army Officers Sword Katana, blade with pronounced zig-zag hamon, nakago signed and with Seki Arsenal stamp and pierced with a single mekugi ana. In shin gunto mounts including unusual iron tsuba of shin gunto pattern, civilian replacement fuchi, in its scabbard with leather combat cover. Blade 66cms. Good condition, some age wear, blade cleaned bright.
Japanese WW2 Army Officers Sword Katana, wartime blade of conventional form, in regulation shin gunto mounts, the tsuka with leather combat cover sewn in place, in its green painted metal scabbard. Blade 61cms, details of nakago unavailable, kashira replaced with a piece of horn, well-worn overall.
Eagle Pommel Sidearm, broad swollen double edge blade cut with a pair of fullers and a longer one, cast brass hilt, grip in the form of an eagle’s head, in an original 19th century leather scabbard with brass locket and leather chape. Blade 47.5cms. Good condition. We are of the opinion that the sidearm is a well-made later representation of an earlier sidearm. Sold as viewed.
^ Continental Silver Mounted Hunting Hanger c.1770, slightly curved single edge blade cut with 3 narrow fullers, one piece ivory grip, mounts (not hall marked) include rococo crosspiece and small side guard, shaped pommel cap and 3 pairs of rivet heads, in its silver mounted leather scabbard. Blade 44.5cms, overall 58cms. Good condition, blade cleaned bright, age worn overall.
Mid-19th Century Continental Hunting Hanger, probably French, straight double edge blade cut with a pair of fullers, fine silver crosspiece (not hall marked) with boar and deer head against hunting horn, dog head quillon finials, ebonised grip, in its leather scabbard with engraved silver mounts. Blade 47.5cms, overall 62.5cms. Good condition, some age wear.

Blade 57cms, overall 74cms. Good condition, some rust staining to blade, some wear to gilding.

Spanish Military Broadsword c.1725, broad straight double edge blade deeply stamped in the short fullers ENRIQUE COEEL EN ALAMANIA, regulation iron ‘rapier’ hilt with large guards screwed to rings integral with reversed quillons and knuckle bow all with balusters, small button pommel, in plain leather scabbard. Blade 92cms, overall 109cms. Generally good condition, grip wire and scabbard mounts missing, hilt moderately pitted, age worn overall.
^ Georgian Naval Officers Sword with Possible Lord Nelson Connection, straight single edge blade etched with crowned GR, 1801-1816 royal arms, crowned fouled anchor and naval trophy, traces of blued and gilt decoration, regulation brass stirrup hilt with traces of gilding, wire bound ivory grip, in its brass mounted leather scabbard, the locket speculatively engraved ‘Used by Lord Nelson and presented by him to Lieutenant EDWARD GASCOINE PALMER’, and on the reverse ‘HN’. Blade 82cms. Good condition, top section of ivory restored with filler, brass chape replaced, some age wear overall.

Blade 79cms. Good condition, well worn overall, traces of plating to hilt and scabbard.

Blade 78 ½ cms, overall 99cms. Good condition, blade in almost mint condition, minor wear to gilding.

Steel hilt pierced with star & halfmoon, wood grip. In its steel scabbard. Very good condition example overall.
British 1822 Pattern Crimean War/ Indian Mutiny Period Infantry Officers Sword by Wilkinson, 80cms blade with Wilkinson number 7520 for 1855, etched with ‘VR’ monogram, foliage, etc., Wilkinson name and address, sharpened for active service use. Brass hilt polished & worn, missing rear folding section. Without scabbard. Seems to have seen active use by the number of marks in the sharp edge.
Victorian Scots Guards Officers Sword, levee pattern. 84cms blade etched with VR monogram, battle honours to ‘Suakin 1885’, Scots Guards badge, foliage, etc., maker’s name ‘Cater & Co, Pall Mall, London’. A few tiny rust spots, otherwise good condition. Chrome-plated steel hilt, with Scots Guards badge in cartouche, some wear to plating, mainly inside guard. In original chrome-plated scabbard, some wear to plating, mainly on back.
Rare British Experimental Cavalry Troopers Sword, c.1850, the hilt is the 1821 pattern Heavy Cavalry Troopers solid bowl type, with leather-covered wood grip. Long 88cms double-edged stabbing blade, stamped ‘Enfield’, and ‘Sold out of Service mark’, plus other stamps. No scabbard. Dark grey patina overall. Good condition.
George V Royal Navy 1827 Pattern Officers Sword, brass hilt, lion head pommel, wire-bound fishskin grip; King’s crown above anchor in cartouche. 80cms blade etched with Royal coat-of-arms, foliage, crowned anchor, etc., and retailer’s name ‘Gieves, Mathews & Seagrove Ltd.’. In brass mounted black leather scabbard, slight wear to the leather, otherwise very good example.
George V Royal Navy 1827 Pattern Officers Sword, brass hilt, lion head pommel, wire-bound fishskin grip; King’s crown above anchor in cartouche, much of the original gilt finish remaining to the hilt. 81cms blade etched with Royal coat-of-arms, foliage, crowned anchor, etc., a few slight patches of light pitting, otherwise very good condition. In brass mounted black leather scabbard.
Scarce Original Enfield Sawback Sword-Bayonet, straight blade cut with a single fuller and a saw back edge, and struck with multiple official markings including issue date 11/82 and (19)00, crowned VR, Birmingham and Enfield inspectors marks, Wing D and broad arrow, unit marks 4.03 A.P.C. 1309, iron guard, 2 piece chequered leather grips, pommel with spring catch, in its leather scabbard with regulation iron mounts. Blade 65.5cms. Good condition and age patina.

Stamped with “tulle juin 1872” in script to edge of the blade. Accompanied by a French Lebel bayonet with quillon and housed in steel scabbard. Cruciform blade remains in good condition. (2 items)

Housed in its original leather scabbard with steel mounts. Yataghan blade with fuller to back edge. Acceptance stamps and “REEVES” to the forte. Some surface staining to the blade and tape repair to the lower section of the scabbard.
Swiss Army Officers Dress Dagger, complete with the original dress portopee. Houses in its black painted scabbard with leather attachment strap and metal clip. Plain double edged blade measuring 20 ½ cms. Blade with makers details “ELSENER SCHWYZ VICTORIA”, other side of the blade stamped “”155780”. Overall 36 ½ cms.
