A Japanese sword (katana), blade 26.75 in., hon-zukuri, suguha hamon, nakago appears suguha with four ana, two character mei (kane tsune) close to the nakagojiri, gilt habaki with neko-gaki; in tachi-koshirae with shakudo mounts, the tsuba, fuchi, kabutogane, shibabiki and ishi-dzuki all decorated en suite with gilt pawlonia blossoms against a nanako ground, bark effect red lacquered scabbard, lacking kurigata, tsuka-ito and grip ornaments also missing.
A silver mounted Arab sword (saif), broad and slightly curved blade 30.5 in., hatchet point, one narrow and one broad fuller; silver clad hilt with bud-terminal quillons and angular pommel, triple knuckle chain, applied and engraved embellishment; the major parts of the silver clad scabbard comprising: a long locket and chape decorated en suite and with a matched intervening section of pierced and repoussé work, together covering the full length of the blade, the wooden lining not present.
An Indian jade hilted dagger (khanjar), flamboyant double edged blade 9.5 in. with two broad fullers forming a medial ridge to each side, reinforced forte, green jade hilt of tiger's head form with a steel collar, steel mounted leather covered scabbard partly covered by a large embroidered frog and belt loop. Purported provenance: from the widow of fighter ace and famous test pilot Squadron Leader Neville Duke, D.S.O., O.B.E., D.F.C. and two bars, A.F.C.; who was presented with this dagger by the Maharaja of Swat for flying in a Hawker Fury from London to Karachi in 1949.
An Indian jade hilted dagger (kard), single edged blade 10 in. and of slightly flamboyant form, the forte partly enclosed by scroll edged plates adorned with foliage in gold koftgari, the hilt with grey-green jade grip scales set with decorative simulated rivet heads (one lacking), fabric covered scabbard with embossed locket and chape depicting elephants and a lion killing an antelope.
A 17th century North European hunting sword, double edged blade 31.5 in., three narrow fullers to the forte, marked with a running wolf, rudimentary crescents, and 'ANDRIA FERARA'; iron double-shell guard with knuckle bow and embellished allover with groups of silver pellets within a lattice design, stag horn grip carved with rippled lines, round iron pommel eccentric to its finial, pommel, grip rivets and collar all decorated en suite to the guard; partial leather scabbard.
Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry: the sword of Captain Sir Edward Henry Hulse, R.W.Y. and Imperial Yeomanry, blade 34.5 in., etched with this officer's monogram in a panel at the forte and 'ROYAL WILTS YEOMANRY' to a banner; steel three-bar hilt with reeded bars; with a steel mounted leather covered scabbard, the locked engraved 'EDWARD HENRY HULSE VITH BARONET CAPTAIN 56TH COMPANY, I.Y. SOUTH AFRICAN CAMPAIGN 1900-02'; and a plated steel dress scabbard; together with a leather sword bag. Born 25/08/1859, the son of Sir Edward Hulse, 5th Baronet, and Katherine, daughter of the Dean of Salisbury. Commissioned a Lieutenant in the Salisbury Troop of the Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry 04/11/1882. Resigned his commission in 1887, having been elected MP for the City of Salisbury the previous year. Commissioned Captain in the 56th (Buckinghamshire) Company Imperial Yeomanry in 1900, arriving in South Africa 10/04/1900. Mentioned in Lord Roberts' Despatch of 04/09/1901. Suffered a debilitating injury in this year, and joined the Yeomanry Depot. Served as a press censor in Johannesburg after the war, and was found dead of a gunshot wound to the head 30/05/1903, a revolver by his side.
A British Royal Artillery officer's sword, George VI, blade etched with unit title and motifs together with the royal cypher, plated three bar hilt with shagreen grip, brown leather sword knot, brown leather covered scabbard complete with frog; together with a 1845/97 pattern infantry officer's sword, George V, fullered and etched blade with retailer's name of Hawkes & Co., mated to an 1897 pattern hilt, steel scabbard. A interesting military sword of Sergeant's type, plain dumbell section blade marked 'MADE IN ENGLAND', 1897 type hilt with GVR cypher, guard engraved 'S.L. KEPPEL-PALMER', associated leather covered wooden scabbard. Possibly a memorial object. A Captain Stuart Leslie Keppel-Palmer M.C., Tank Corps, was killed in action 03/10/1918.

A rare* 17th century English plug bayonet, flamboyant blade 11.5 in., engraved at the base with 'GOD SAVE KING JAMES THE 2' to one side and with an arched crown to the other, struck on each side with an armourer's mark of a king's head, and with the inlaid copper dagger mark of the Cutlers' Company of London on one side; brass mounted hilt of 'Helmet-Head' type with polished ebony grip and helmeted head finials to the pommel and each quillon, some restoration to the hilt; in a scabbard of embossed leather with brass straps along each edge united by two straps across each face, lacking chape; offered together with: R.D.C. Evans. 'The Plug Bayonet / An Identification Guide for Collectors', 2002, hard cover, with M/S dedication from the author.
