A Third Reich Cavalry officer’s sword, plated blade 33½”, by Anton Winger Jr, the brass stirrup hilt with lion’s head pommel with red glass eyes, oak leaf embossed knucklebow and backstrap, one langet bearing crossed sabres, the other with small eagle and swastika above a shield engraved with owner’s monogram, with wire bound black celluloid covered grip, in its black painted steel scabbard with fragments of know and belt fittings. Basically GC, the blade VGC (the hilt with traces of gilt, grip wire AF, scabbard paint worn).
A Geo V 1897 pattern infantry officer’s sword, blade 32½”, etched with crowned R Arms and crowned GR and V, within scrolled fenestrated panels, regulation pierced hilt incorporating crowned GVR cypher, chequered backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip, in its leather FS scabbard. Basically GC (some service wear, old repair to scabbard).

A Vic 1845 pattern infantry officer’s sword, slightly curved blade 32½”, by Hamburger Rogers & Co, King St, Covent Garden, London, etched with crowned VR cypher within scrolled frosted panels on both sides, regulation gilt hilt incorporating crowned VR cypher and with turn down inner portion, stepped pommel, ornamental backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip. GC, the hilt retaining most original gilt (dark rust patches to blade edges, no scabbard).
An Indian army cavalry trooper’s sword, broad curved shallow fullered blade, of 1796 light cavalry type, 1821 light cavalry type hilt with knucklebow, sideloop, 2 sidebars, plain pommel and backstrap with “ears”, ribbed grip (most leather worn), in its heavy black leather scabbard with long iron chape and locket with unusual side projections presumably to secure it to a saddle mount. Basically GC (some wear and dark pitting). Plate 6
A Dutch officer’s sword, c 1930, straight, pipe backed blade 31”, with Solingen maker’s mark at forte and small scroll “Yzerhouwer” on one side near forte, slotted steel half basket guard, forward sloping stepped pommel of French style, ribbed composition grip, in its plated scabbard (some wear and dents), with heavy silver bullion dress knot. An 1821 pattern light cavalry trooper’s sword, slightly curved, fullered blade 35½”, marked “W Harvey” on backstrap with inspector’s stamp at forte, regulation steel hilt with knucklebow, sideloop and 2 sidebars, pommel and backstrap with “ears”, ribbed wooden grip, marked “M/41” on top of guard, in its steel scabbard with 2 rings and small date “1844” at the top. Basically GC (some wear, cleaned bright). Plate 6
