A German Third Reich SA Dagger, the 22cm steel blade faintly etched Alles fur Deutschland and with maker's mark for Hugo Koller, Solingen, the nickel plated hilt with Gau mark NNrh for Niederrhein, the wood grip inset with badges of eagle and swastika and SA, the brown enamelled steel scabbard with nickel mounts and single suspender ring. Heavy orange rust pitting to blade and scabbard. Small chip to base of grip to the back. Wood faded.

Nicks to edge of blade, with fine rust pitting. Grip with splits and two chips. Enamel of scabbard is crizzled and has rust pitting. Suspender ring is missing.

Blade is a little uneven on one side as though a nick has been ground out. Some discolouration to the grip. the enamel on the scabbard is worn, there is a small dent to one side, the chape is missing one of the screws

GESCHUTZ, the plated white metal hilt with chequered black plastic grip scales, with black enamelled steel scabbard, 41.5cm Footnote:- Brought back from the war by the vendor's uncle, 14584683 Sergeant William Leslie Bradwell, a sniper with the Royal Scots Fusiliers. Blade is in good condition. The plating on the hilt and scabbard mounts is flaking and corroded, the enamelling is very worn.

A Continental 1817/1869 Infantry Hanger, the plain 67cm single edge curved fullered steel blade with crowned GD inspector's marks at the ricasso, the brass stirrup hilt with downswept quillon, ribbed grip and peened pommel nut, the knuckle guard stamped with further inspector's marks, with brass mounted leather scabbard, 81cmBlack patching and pitting to the blade, small nicks to the edge towards the tip. Leather scabbard is perished with flaking and cracking to the surface, seam lacks stitching, locket is loose and chape is missing.

Co., Chicopee, Mass., the opposing side stamped U.S./A.H.C./1862, the brass stirrup hilt with rounded quillon to the crossguard, ribbed grip made to simulate wire binding, with baluster pommel, the brass mounted leather scabbard with later leather frog, 89cm. Minor black patches to blade, wear to maker's mark, some creasing to leather scabbard, small dent to chape, later frog.

Orange rust pitting to hilt and scabbard 2 - Orange rust pitting to blade, pitting to hilt, leather scabbard is shabby.

Lot 160

A French M1866 Chassepot Yataghan Sword Bayonet, with St Etienne T section steel blade, the steel crossguard and scabbard stamped with differing numbers; a Nepalese Kukri, with nickel bolster, the wood grip with silver coloured metal bands and pommel cap, with leather scabbard and frog and two sharpening knives; also, two Indian kukris with horn grips, an Indian dagger, two replica swords and a reproduction copper curved hunting horn (8). Rust pitting to crossguard and scabbard of bayonet. The wood grip of the Nepalese kukri has a split which runs under the silver bands which are tarnished, the blade has black patching and no visible marks.The leather scabbard has surface splits and stretching to the stitched seams.

A British 1853 Pattern Cavalry Trooper's Sword, the 89cm single edge fullered steel blade stamped at the ricasso and back edge with inspector's markings, the steel three bar hilt later chrome plated, the underside of the guard stamped 86 K, with chequered leather grip scales, lacks scabbards; a 19th Century Cherrywood Swordstick, with 55cm plain diamond section steel blade, the haft with nickel and steel ball tipped ferrule, 91cm; a XII Lancers Riding Crop, with nickel pommel embossed with regimental badge, pigskin grip and woven linen bound haft (3). 1 - Black patching to blade. Repairs to rivets on the grip and with some wear and loss of leather. Lacks scabbard. 2 - Black patching to blade 3 - Crop lacks its leather switch tip.

Some orange rust pitting. Scabbard is shabby and lacking mounts.

Lot 169

A 19th Century Indio-Persian Khanjar, the 29cm double edge spear point steel blade with reinforced tip, inlaid with tiger, antelope, elephant, horse and buffalo in silver, the waisted steel grip with similar inlaid decoration of foliage, with green velvet scabbard, 40.5cm. Black patching to blade and wear to the decoration on the hilt, scabbard is shabby.

Lot 171

A Javanese Pedang Lurus, the 55.5cm steel blade with sloping back edge for the last 28cm, inlaid with stylised serpents, scorpions and cloud motifs in gilt and silver metal, the hollow brass crossguard, hilt and scabbard embossed with stylised birds and foliage, 72cm. Hilt and scabbard bear traces of silver plating, and in my opinion the base metal is a thin brass. There are delamination marks to the blade, the crossguard is a little wiggly and the scabbard has tiny dents to the plain panels.

All with rust pitting to metalwork. Japanese wakizashi has some loss to the bone sections.

A Regimental Scottish Dirk, 79th Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders with Buckmaster blade, chased with foliage and crowned 79 Highlanders, 11 1/2" ( 29cms) ; ebonised baluster basket weave grip set with gilt brass studs and pommel set with a large semi-precious stone within a gilt brass band in a very attractive brass scabbard with trellis pattern and thistle spray, the shoe also with thistle sprays, two shelves sections, each with a matching small knife or fork, each with a cairngorm pommel, 17 1/2" (45cms). Read, Maker, College Green, Dublin, signed on blade and scabbard, the blade with military figures, scrolling foliage, military trophies, armorial crest with motto "Dieu et Mon Droit" the langets in the form of the Irish Crown Harp, the rear single quillion with rosettes, the removable guard with the oval openwork monogram of George III, the curved single edged double fuller blade 32" (81cms); the pommel in the form of a military helmet, on a wire bound ivory grip, the brass scabbard with leather panels and brass suspension rings, lockets and chape, signed and inscribed at the throat locket, 40" (102cms) overall.ÿ Extremely Rare.
