Together with a pattern 1888 bayonet (no scabbard) stamped to the left ricasso with date 4 92 for April 1892 as well as inspection mark over 99 and makers name Sanderson Sheffield, the right ricasso stamped with arrow over WD over inspection mark over X for the bend test mark to show it passed proof.53cm long

Three bayonets and scabbards, to include:Brazilian M.1908 probably made by Czechoslovakia however there are no export marks, serial number 5585 on the rear of the quillion, leather and steel scabbard, the frog lug is stamped F I for Fabrica de Itajuba, the Brazilian state arms factory identifying the scabbard as a Brazilian-made replacement. Brazilian M.1908 issued with the 1908 Mauser Rifle, all marks removed except the serial number d2028 on the right side of the crossguard, steel scabbard with F1 on frog clip F1 in an oval. Peruvian M.1935 for the FN Mauser Short Rifle was exported to Peru, the bayonet is a combination of a Czech crossguard and blade with a FN pommel, no marks on the bayonet blade except for serial number 0931 on pommel. 54cm long

Lot 2

Japanese Tachi, 680mm blade with 15mm curvature, thought to be Nanbokucho / early Muromachi period, circa 1400, of Yamato / Yamashiro tradition, possibly by Sairen, the blade polished by John Boulton in 2011. The grip is currently not possible to remove.Condition report: The blade has been repolished however there are recent rust spots around the point mainly on the left side of the blade, but also some spots on the right. The cutting edge does not appear to have any cracks or chips to it however there are some faint lines around the flat section of the blade away from the hammon. These lines look like they could be part of the grain of the metal. Seven extra images have been uploaded to try and illustrate these lines. There appears to be a repair to the Habaki. The Tsuba and the scabbard have signs of heavy rusting and pitting. The Tsuba is very loose and rattles. The sword is missing the hook or loop from the end of the grip.
