The Haconby Celtic Fertility Figure Celtic, A bronze male nude figure, 1st century AD, 5.5cm high by 1.2cm wide; oval-shaped face with lentoid eyes, long straight nose, slit mouth and small protruding ears; the narrow torso has angled shoulders with the left arm held against the chest holding a small purse; the right hand is extended downwards holding an enlarged phallus which is hinged for movement; the straight legs are merged together; behind the head is a loop, while the back is concave. Very fine with a smooth brown patina £800-£1,200 --- Provenance: Found at Haconby in Lincolnshire This unique figure probably represents a Celticized Mercury who was regarded as a fertility god by the Celts. The hinged oversized phallus appears to be a unique feature, which may have served as a locking mechanism as a buckle to hold a belt and scabbard for a sword.

All housed in a metal storage tin, this has been repainted but retains original brass name plaque of The Hon Lord Blackburn. The inside lid with the tailor details of J. Stewart & Son Edinburgh. Good clean condition. Near VGC Lord Colin Blackburn a Scottish Judge In 1876 he was made a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary and a life peer. He died in 1896.

Italian MVSN 1937 model Officer fascist dagger. A fine example with plain plated blade. The polished aluminium handle terminates in an eagle’s head pommel; the black Bakelite grips bear a recessed gilt fasces. Housed in original black painted scabbard with gilt chape and two gilt bands each supporting a loose ring; complete with hanging chains suspended from M and spring clip bearing eagle over SPQR. Minor service wear otherwise generally VGC.

Housed in its finely pebbled plated scabbard with fine oakleaf bands supporting both loose suspension rings. VGC Introduced in March 1939; production ceased in mid 1942.

The blade is etched with the motto Mehr sein als scheinef and bears maker details. Brown wooden grip with nickel crossguard PL62 and top guard engraved N.P.E.A.PLON -Ostern 1936; housed in its olive drab painted regulation scabbard which is complete with original brown leather frog. Nickel mounted black wooden grip inlaid with silvered eagle and swastika and enamelled circular SS Sigrunen; crossguard impressed III for Berlin district,. Housed in black anodised nickel mounted scabbard with single suspension ring. Minor service wear. VGC
Napoleonic War Period 1796 / 1811 Light Cavalry Trooper Sword. A good example closely following the British 1796 light cavalry pattern, with regimental stamps to the cross guard 9TP 4.72, indicating possibly the 1811 Prussian Light Cavalry model. Heavy single edged curved blade, with inspection stamp 831 to the back of the blade. The hilt with single bar guard and leather covered wood grip. Housed in with original steel scabbard fitted with two loose rings and with matching issue stamps. Overall GC, some age and service wear. It is interesting to note that a large number of the Prussian Model 1811 sword were supplied by the British from stocks of the 1796 Light Cavalry sword in 1807 and later in 1813. It was carried by Troopers of the Dragoon and Hussars Regiments and saw action at the Battle of Waterloo.
Indian Army Rifle Regiment Officers Sword. Modelled on the regulation Light Infantry pattern sword, this example with etched blade decorated with a GRI crowned cypher and Light Infantry crowned bugle device. This device repeated to the open bar guard. Housed in leather scabbard. Overall age wear to the scabbard and plating of the hilt, blade clean.
Victorian British Infantry Officer Pattern Sword. A good clean example of the regulation pattern, the blade with crowned VR cypher which is repeated to the guard. Housed in steel scabbard with two loose rings and fitted with bullion gold and crimson sword knot. Overall good clean condition, professionally refurbished during its working life. Double edged plain spear point blade and fitted with an oval cross guard. Housed in a brown leather scabbard with nickel rounded chape and with leather and nickel stud retaining strap plus an additional elasticated strap. Complete with four tangs. The overall condition is good clean bright, with minor age wear. Blade length 17.9 cm
