Iron Cross House was owned by Mr Potter and had been leased to Lord and Lady Innes-Kerr until 1916 as a hunting 'box'

He was wounded at Gallipoli on 23-10-1915 and died of his wounds in Malta; he is buried in the Pieta Military Cemetery on Malta.
