A mid 18th century brass barrelled flintlock blunderbuss, by (James) Barbar, London, well reconverted from percussion, 29½” overall, bell mouth barrel 14½” with London proofs and engraved “London”; signed rounded lock with single line border, swan neck cock and unbridled frizzen; walnut fullstock with plain military style brass mounts and horn tipped ramrod with iron worm. An officer’s Bell topped shako, 1829-44, of The 11th (N Devon) Regt, black felt body (replaced) with PL top, peak and upright “V” on each side, silver plated round link chinscales, with ear roundels bearing the Royal Crest, white feather plume, 8” (socket missing), gilt crowned star shako plate on which a laurel wreath with scrolls and centre circle bearing 7 battle honours “Peninsula” to “Orthes”, in its shaped japanned tin case with small padlock and key. A Georgian mahogany longcase clock, the arched hood with C scroll surmount and turned pilasters flanking arch dial, signed John Lightbody of Lanark, having three masted clipper ship painted to the arch, width approx. 14", Roman and Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds and date dial, twin winding holes for brass 8 day, time movement in good working condition, the trunk having a bowed panel door and half turned pilasters to a panelled box, approx. 225cm high, in good condition but the bell movement has been disabled, as its owner did not like the sound of the bell
