Bell - Harwich Interest - A commemorative bell possibly used in the mess of the Essex Fortress Company RE No.1 Anti-Aircraft searchlight COY R.E.459th Searchlight RE. These units noted on a brass plaque to the front of the Bell (some damage) and containing the Battle Honours of the units noted which include - Defence of the Construction Train Leuwspruit June 14th 1900 'Enemy Commander DEWET. Destruction of Zeppelin Airship L - 48 at Harwich June 17th 1917 - enemy Cdr Kapt Victor Schutze. Destruction of Junkers at Harwich Oct 13th 1940 Engineers 'Ubique' badge and a plaque saying 'Presented by the Major R J Leeds RE". Sometime Officer commanding the Unit. The bell 'clapper' is part of a fuse plug. The bell is in good condition, the main plaque with some damage. An interesting local lot.

A naval flintlock pistol with bayonet dating: late 18th Century provenance: England Smooth, two-stage, bronze barrel, octagonal at the first part, then round with rings at the girdle and round, bell-mouthed nozzle, in one piece with the frame. Stamps at the lower part. Box-lock mechanic; remains of engravings depicting a trophy on the right side; signed "WHEELER" inside an ellipsis at the left plaque. Back hammer and batterie, both made if iron, with external secure-lock. Curved, smooth, wooden grip. The lower part of the barrel featuring an iron spring bayonet, held by the trigger guard. Iron ramrod on the left side. dimensions: length totale 44,5 cm.

Duccoto dating: 18th Century provenance: Italy Round, smooth, 14 mm cal. barrels with rib at the back and flattened sides at the base; slightly bell-mouthed nozzles, remains of brass floral inlays at the base. Locks with roundish plate, with double-outlines at the edges, featuring the signature "B. Duccotto"; hammers, batterie and pans outlined en suite. Wooden full stocks (small restorations), featuring remains of thin inlaid works and mother-of-pearl inlays. Iron mounts,counter-plates and trigger guards with double fullers. Horn-tipped, wooden ramrod with iron cartridge extractor. dimensions: length 28 cm.

A beautiful wheel lock rifle by Keiner dating: last quarter of the 17th Century provenance: Boemia Elegant, rifled, octagonal, 10 mm cal. barrel; grooved at the first part, then after the rear sight featuring a brass mark of Carl Keiner (Stöckel nr. 2223) between the date "1682" and floral decorations; slightly bell-mouthed nozzle, brass foresight; external wheel lock with brass covering engraved with floral motifs, flat plate, spring and button of the spring-pan cover covered with brass masks; chiselled spring and hammer, decorative carving at the inside; wooden full stock decorated with fine inlays and filigree and bras plaques; counter-plate engraved and pierced with floral motifs; featuring a roe deer lying in the wood among branches on one side, patchbox with eagle and flowers; a deer followed by a bloodhound in the wood, butt-plate with a portrait of a gentleman, floral motifs; grooved, iron trigger guard, trigger with stecher, wooden ramrod. Carl Eger was registered in Eger, Boemia, from 1649 to 1690 (Stöckel Vol. I pag. 615). dimensions: length 127.5 cm.

Lock with smooth, flat plate with outline at the tang. Dark, wooden full stock, a junction at the neck with locking mechanism that can be unlocked by a button at the back (a small restoration at the wood). Iron mounts. Iron-tipped, wooden ramrod. dimensions: length 69 cm.

A fine folding flintlock blunderbuss by Nicola Duina dating: third quarter of the 18th Century provenance: Brescia Smooth, round barrel; carved with rings at the base, and engraved with silver and brass trophies and floral motifs; strongly bell-mouthed nozzle with oval open-work and engraved frame; engraved tang; lock with round plate signed "N. Duina" and brass pan; stock in two pieces made of fine briar-root decorated with filigree floral motifs, the back featuring a shield engraved with buildings, below a button to fold the butt. Iron belt-hook. Horn-tipped, wooden ramrod and iron cartridge extractor. Nicola Duina used to work in Brescia at the end of the XVII Century and he was documented there already in 1720. dimensions: length 83 cm.

White, metallic trigger guard, engraved with racemes, muzzle ring and barrel bracket made of white metal, iron butt-plate with white, metallic upper tang, engraved en suite.
