A London & North Western Railway Fletchers signalbox block instrument with ivorine plates "RAINFORD VILLAGE" and "MAIN LINES". On the Ormskirk - St Helens line, Rainford Village station opened as "Rainford" in 1858; was renamed in 1861, and closed in 1951. The instrument, with its underslung bell, is in fine original condition.
