14th century AD. A bronze bell-shaped vessel with radiating loop and studs to the rim; reserved parcel-gilt calligraphic text on a patterned field with rosettes below. 1.7 kg, 14.5cm high (5 3/4"). A terracotta oinochoe or wine-pitcher with bell-shaped body, ribbed neck, trefoil rim and bifid strap handle to the rear; painted decoration including lozenges to the neck band of scrolled tendrils and lozenges to the shoulder, frieze of galloping horses to the body with guilloches, geometric motifs and archaic Greek text, swags and band below. 1 kg, 23cm (9"). Fine condition, fire damaged and repaired. Ex German collection; acquired 1980s.

A Meissen type porcelain cased mantle clock The white enamelled dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, the floral encrusted and painted case surmounted with musical putti flanking an urn, the barrel movement numbered 2322 and striking on a bell, blue painted cross swords mark. 46 cm high. CONDITION REPORTS: Generally good condition, expected wear, various slight losses, some discolouration, some slight glaze flaws, some rubbing to painting and gilding.

1820-1830 AD. Obv: profile bust with COLUMBIA legend. Rev: Justice, holding scales and sword. 2.85 grams. Davis -; Bell -; see Kyle, M. H., Numismatica Canada, volume 2, no.7, September 2003, pp.148-156 for information. It has been suggested that these pieces originate in British Columbia, Canada but the frequency in which they are encountered in the UK makes it possible that they are English; there are some thirteen obverse dies and fourteen reverses apparently recorded for the type. A gilt bronze figure of Vajradhara seated cross legged, arms crossed at chest holding a dorje, bell, and vajra thunderbolt; large earrings in elongated ears; crown with five floral points; hair pulled up into a bun and with vajra thundebolt to the top; seated on a carved, gilded and painted wooden throne with scrolling vegetation and makara to the top of throne back. 3 kg, 37cm (14 1/2"). UK art market, acquired prior to 2000. Fine condition.
